a forfeit is a loss and a duck retirement to a forfeit loss. Thus tony is the lightweight goat cause He is the only man to defeat kabib and the Justin loss is nullified cause that was not him.

It's a huge stain on his legacy that he didn't clean out the best of his division at the time for sure, but I think he did enough to be the GOAT of the weight class until further notice.

Khabib has had maybe 7 total fights against high level competition. He has a great record but let's not get carried away.

Guys like Jones and GSP fought and dominated at the highest level for a lot longer. That's not to say Khabib couldn't reach them eventually but as of now, no.

Jones is one of the GOAT but he lost to Reyes and also to GUS and had questionable fight with Santos and also not to forget he had a dog-fight with DC in the first fight. His definitely not the most dominant fighter and far from it but his a great fighter but not the most dominant
 
Nah Khabib is already the lw goat. Wish that fight had happened though.

The GOAT doesn't fail to show up to a fight because of a bad weight cut due to eating tiramisu. This would've never happened with someone like GSP.

Yes he is.

Fight for long enough and you will have some close fights. Not that Gus was even close. It was a clear win. So was Santos. But nobody ever goes back to watch again multiple times and break down what actually happened.

He's the youngest ufc champ ever and basically fought and dominated at the highest level for a decade. That's unseen dominance. You can't just bring up a few close fights and ignore the bulk of his resume.

Khabib has a total of 3 title defences and maybe 7 total high level fighters on his resume. If that.

Thats not something you can compare to Jones or GSP and it's silly to try.
 
Khabib not fighting his most successful contemporary (@15-2 UFC) , only 3 defenses, and only fighting once a year, mostly self imposed through suspensions, Ramadan and missing weight and flights will be looked at as a joke when recent shine fades.
