Khabib is dominant but not fun to watch

Khabib beats the dogshit out of his opponent's. Don't know what you're talking about ts. That shit is dope.
 
if khabib fought like he did against justin, dustin, conor his whole career, he wouldn't get nearly the amount of criticism he gets for his fighting style.

those who say he is always looking for a finish, must have only seen his last 3 fights.
and forgot about the rest. don't get me wrong; he looked better than ever against justin.
looked good against dustin and conor. all top 5 opponents.

couldn't finish barboza.. or the last minute replacement 11th ranked real estate guy and a host of other slightly above average fighters. i am glad he started getting some finishes. the guy has too much skill to coast through fights
just happy to get a decision with control time. that is where the boring narrative stems from.
fighting safe = boring fights its not limited to grapplers.
you can tell when a guy is going for the finish or when he is coasting by with a points lead.
or fighting not to lose.

Everyone has his own opinion and I respect that. But I just dont see how you cannot enjoy Khabibs fights. In general, the following holds: On the feet he is pressuring and hitting his opponents and on the ground he is just ferocious looking for better positions, gnp and submissions. What is boring??

Khabib was always looking for the finish and often got it even early in his UFC career. Even when he couldn't finish he was throwing GnP non stop. He had a very breif 3 fight decision streak back before he blew out his knee but even in those fights he was constantly going after his opponents. He never coasted on points, he just fought tough guys.

The real reason why Khabib started getting more finishes is because he changed his style from chasing GnP TKOs to hunting opportunistic submissions. He talked about this in a few interviews. He reworked his whole system so that he could finish more

the part where the fight stops being a fight and turns into a 1 sided beating. i'm not saying that's my opinion but i know that's what a fair amount of people will say as a reason. and it's a fair assessment, how many fights of the year candidates has he been in?

the part i don't agree with is that it's good that he left the sport. it's really never good, for the sport anyway, when someone leaves it undefeated. there's no passing of the guard, so we lose the ability to learn more. if Khabib stays retired we'll never know how good he really is because we've never seen him struggle and all of his weaknesses will just be theoretical.

I find top control wrestlers boring sometimes, but Khabib is usually aggressive. The only fight I really got bored was when he fought Iaquinta. It became evident fairly early on that Al had nothing at all for Khabib and Khabib was content with some heavy sparring.

and to be fair again .. the only exciting match-up to be made with khabib is GSP ..


they truly deserve each other !!


wouldn't mind seeing Charles either tho .. the way he was transitioning and moving leads he may be of great danger to khabob
 
I really enjoy Khabib's fights, he just owns people. Sure 10 second KOs are fun but wow that was an expensive 10 seconds of entertainment.

Just wanted to say that Steve Fox gif is fucking awesome, also his only shitty fight for me was Iaquinta because that had no business going the distance.
 
I loved watching Khabib. If you don’t like watching high level stuff with solid granite chin you’re a casual.
 
Go watch kickboxing, MMA is not for you. The only fight I can recall that was lackluster was the Raging Al fight, the rest Khabib was incredibly active advancing position and completely swarmed his opponent. Every fight he is in is fast paced and non stop action, not like he just gets a take down and does nothing with it.
 
Nurmagomedov is not only a grappler he is a very special and unique character, a very charismatic one. There are good reasons why he became one of the if not the biggest ufc's along with mcg.
