Just trying to deal with the sadness it never happened perhaps? Just sad seeing Tony get run over now, I kinda hoped the Justin performance was a one off aberration given the double weight cut. Oliviera put that notion to bed.

I mean i get it and I've suffered sadness in mma as well. Watching wand get his head kicked off by crocop sucked but eh shit happens. That said hey it's mma and pretty unpredictable however I think it's pretty clear by now Tony would have gotten taken down at will and dominated.

Probably right but who knows he could have fake thrown sand in Khabib's eyes and gotten a crazy sub, Khabib's just gotten better and better whilst Tony unfortunately has declined, back when they were first scheduled to fight what 5 odd years ago at I believe the tail end of 2015 it would have been a helluva fight.

Fighters who can still fight / make money almost never stay retired

Khabib may be different but 120 years of pro boxing & MMA tells us that it is rare

as a selfish fan I hope he comes back but obviously respect whatever he does

I don’t want to be fascinated by the GSP fight but I am. As in I don’t want it to happen but if it does I’m going to be obsessed with it

Khabib is done. He's got his hands full in retirement. Opening gyms for disadvantaged street kids around the world, his own MMA org. He has nothing to gain from coming back.

This, IMO. If the guy was JUST doing cucumber farming, then yeah, I'd say his retirement isn't set. But him fighting in addition to starting cell phone businesses on a national scale, opening gyms, starting his own MMA promotion, and more... not going to happen. Hell none of us expect Dana to start anything besides running "just" an MMA org, yet we expect Khabib to fight in addition to doing all that insanity listed above... just not realistic expectation.

Only 1 thing he will gain if he returns and that is defending the belt 1 more time and break the record for the most title defenses in LW History

It won't be a title defense as he has relinquished the title.
