Pretty damn close. Maybe Aldo because i think he has the clear cut best TDD ever, while GSP and Jones have a good argument for best TDs ever with Khabib

Aldo is stylistically one of Khabibs hardest matchups. Would love to see it but I’d have to favor Khabib due to size and cardio.

I find Aldo’s takedown defense more impressive. He never came from a wrestling background and the way he got up from a Mendes takedown in their 2nd fight was amazing

Aldo and Edson have a similar style for defending TDs. I think it goes the same way. He avoids most but gets caught in the chain. Once the clinch is locked it's a done deal.

I give best TDs to Khabib only due to variety and how he works them into his chain. The singles, doubles, throws, trips, drags, and slams all fit together so well.

Best doubles and singles go to GSP no contest.

Good point. There’s at least one guy who unquestionably had better TDs than Khabib - GSP.

I don’t think Aldo having the best TDD is “clear cut”, as GSP and Jones also have great TDD. But no one is clearly above Aldo. And people tried to take Aldo down a lot more than Jones and GSP.

So I agree, Aldo’s TDD is a bit more impressive than Khabib’s TDs. Both are amazing though.

They are also exceptionally blessed as athletes in the department that would make them great at powering out of takedown attempts. (strong legs and lower body, athletic, large for the weight class)

That said, Aldo's TDD might be more impressive on a pound for pound basis, but Khalabeeb would toss him around.
