Keyboard Jockey Attempts Two AR-15 Builds

I'm getting all antsy waiting for the call that my gun is ready.

Just an add on to yours to control concussion.

Gotcha. I was hurrying when I looked at that and didn't fully grasp it. The money pit never ends. :icon_sad:

I bought a brass catcher and broke it by screwing the screw back in from the wrong side. Incredible. And not in a good way.

I have decided to abandon the Glock. I know they are good guns and I don't doubt I will get one eventually but I love how my 1911 points.

Haha. I'm a couple beers in. :icon_lol:

It's nodding in agreement while showing a slight bit of pensiveness.

EDIT: Hope he didn't think I was coming on to him.

LOL yeah, I was talking about the gif.

It's a cute way of saying I've never once seriously considered buying a Glock and I own multiple 1911's. I also understand Glocks are great guns and hugely popular so I expect a certain amount of flack over that preference. Because dudes love their Glocks.

Friend of mine had me convinced on a 40 from Glock as a carry. Really leaning to get a Commander 1911 now.

I can't really say one way or another when it comes to carry. Even when I had a permit I never did and it's never been part of my profession. At the range, hurling lead at targets, I much more enjoy doing so with a 1911 rather than a Glock.

1911's carry very well due to their slim designs and profile. Just carry it as intended, hammer baxk, round in the chamber and safety on.

I picked up a super SUPER nice and smooth Remington 1911 when I was in Montana a couple weeks ago. The slide felt like it had been lubed up with an entire bottle of KY type smooth action.

Now, my Springfield 1911 A1 shoots decently but when I manipulate the slide it feels like it's almost biting on something. Could I take this to a gunsmith and have them work on it to operate like it was a $3000 Kimber or Remington 1911?

You could save the gunsmith money and just work the slide on the Springfield 100,000 times like this:

Slide will get smoother over time+shots.

Once compound is used to slick the action up many times a slide frame tightening is order.

Hard Chroming will yield a very slick feel over time.

Fuck it, guess it's time to just pony up for a bunch of ammo and just run it for a long time one day.

I had no clue where else I could post this without starting a new thread... but WTF is that lever thing right next to the bolt release and safety?

I see them on a bunch of rifles on the wall of the shop that I frequent and have NO CLUE what the fuck it would be for. I ASSUME it's to adjust the trigger or something but I also see the same sort of lever on the mag release side of the gun.
