Lee most likely takes it to him on the ground. Al is extremely durable and savvy on his back. He is hard to submit. Pettis would take more damage. There's always the chance Pettis lands something big standing but I don't think he will fair anywhere near as well as Raging Al at negating Lee's grappling. I think that as soon as Lee gets a hold of him he drags him down and starts pounding.

Pettis career took a nose dive, it's a bit unbelievable.

This match up is kind of a downer really: the winner won't really gain much traction. Tough spot for both.

Guida was less likely to get submitted from top control too whereas Lee got triangled by Tony and almost leg locked by Al.

I had Kevin Lee beating Iaquinta but that walk out dance bullshit and then first few times he got shook he was almost already done. Lee is young so obviously, it ain't over but it also reinforced that Iaquinta is a fucking beast. Surviving Khabib on the ground was impressive too along with Iaquinta surviving on the ground with Lee in RNC setup 3x over 2 fights really impressive.

lol this thread must be full of people whose memory doesn't span more than 48 hours. Go rewatch Lee vs Barboza, Barboza being a better striker than Pettis with much better TDD. Pettis most likely doesn't survive the fight, his only chance is an out of nowhere finish which Barboza would've had if his fight IQ wasn't so poor.

After the loss they've taken I'd like both to take a step back LW is too stale and this promotes more staleness.
