and tried to beat barboza up more worse than khabib did, to make a statment.
so thats the reason why kevin lee doesn`t get that much credit for his win, because he wasn`t the first one with that gameplan on barboza, he just copied it.

He beat up Barboza remains...nearly impossible to recover from the BEATDOWN Khabib put on Edson in the span of a few months.


Plus Kevin Lee STILL almost got KOd in the process.

He actually implemented it better and did more damage (imo). Both were dominant. You can't really go making this argument because anytime someone beats a fighter that has already lost we are going to be discrediting them. We don't need to go down that road.

the whole gameplan was the same. kevin lee fought at the fence, he never did that before. the gnp at the fence is a typical khabib style and kevin lee never done that before.

the pace in the match was typical khabib style and kevin lee even doesnt fought against tony ferguson like that.

the whole match was just a khabib gameplan copy.

its not only about take the striker down.

So Lee should have tried to stand and strike with an elite striker like Edson instead of using his top notch wrestling to take him down and beat him up?

Kevin struck with Barboza a lot more than Khabib did, who basically just bulldozed through Bazboza.
It's laughable that you're trying to frame push striker to the fence and take him down as some kind of strategy that Khabib is the first to use. You really think Lee would have had a gameplan with any real distinction from the one he used if the Khabib fight hadn't happened?
 
Barboza is not that impressive. Name one win over an elite fighter he's had? A worn out #10 Melendez? He's flashy so get ranked but he sucks. Khabib has one good win. RDA. Tony has two. RDA and Tomson. Lee has none.
