News Kevin Lee: I’m going to retire from the UFC but I can’t find the right words to use in the video

Yup, and I don't like them (read: their personalities) either, but they at least have the skills/record to compensate their flaws, like you say.

To be clear, I don't think he's a bad guy (I also don't think Izzy is a bad person), but they both drip insecurity and project it onto others. . . the difference being that Izzy is absolutely world class combat athlete. I recall FKL always making excuses and posting whinings after fights (usually Ls). LOL I don't have a dog in the fight, but just don't particularly like him and won't miss him. Still, good luck to his future endeavors.

Gregor Gillespie is a very good fighter and beating him by brutal headkick was impressive.

Barboza, Trinaldo, Chiesa, Mustaev, Prazares are all super legit fighters and having wins over them means he definitely had skill.

I find FKL far less grating than Izzy. Neither is necessarily a bad guy but Izzy goes out of his way to create controversy, hold grudges and provoke certain groups of people. FKL was just delusional and a soar loser at times but not a controversial guy. I'll miss him a little because I followed him since his debut but it's def time to hang em up.

Gregor has legit beat nobody and does he even fight anymore? Chiesa? Overrated as can be but I'll give you barboza that was impressive.

Exactly, or is he dumb enough to think UFC = MMA? And i dont think he would do that good in other sports like BKB (BKFC).

Being muslim doesn't give you special powers, this guy thought he will be like Ali or Tyson but they were already great fighters before converting

With the exception of Lee, Gregor has beaten everyone they've put in front of him, and quite dominantly too. I think I've also heard him say he's had trouble getting fights, probably because he's not the most desirable match up, too big of a chance losing against him due to his high pressure fighting style, but not much to gain because he's not a big household name. A stoppage win over Diego Fereira is legit, even if Diego is a little bit over the hill at this point. Gillespie is well regarded by his peers, and Chiesa had subbed Beneil Dariush and Jim Miller right before he lost to Kevin Lee. Also has wins over Neil Magny and RDA. In most of his UFC fights he's been the betting underdog too, so how does that make him overrated?

You're way too quick to dismiss fighters as 'nobodies'.

I said in another post somewhere, I saw him on JRE. He seems a genuine guy, decent dude. I think his life has been a bit of a battle and he naturally gravitated towards that as a lifestyle then as a living. But I don't think his heart is in the competition, it's in the mantle of surviving the hardships of his life. If he's gotten past them, he should absolutely move on the new pastures. I like Kevin Lee, and if he can evolve in from Fighter Kevin Lee to Decent human Kevin Lee then who can hate on him for that? I don't want to see him hurt for no real reason. And I think we're entering that era for him
 
This guy can’t decide what the fuck he wants to do. One minute he could beat Khabib and the next he’s retiring.
If his heart ain’t in it anymore then please step away and have a great life. I just hope we don’t have to see this again.

He doesn’t have it, maybe at one point he did, but he’s done now. Good to see he’s come to terms with that.
