He seemed to hate on Oscar pretty bad, but there was some truth to his statements. So, however, were spiteful...

He's an idiot. I dont like oscar, but bitching about the fight being on HBO has no merit. The fight will air during HBO's free weekend. HBO made a big deal about that free weekend, so it's not like Iole doesnt know its going to be free.

Generally I read that Cintron went with a fight with Feliciano, then acted as if his hand had been put through a meat grinder after he won. Most saw that and said Cintron was looking for a way out of a fight with Paul Williams, but Iole turns it and says that he took the fight meanwhile he waited, against a tough hard and apparently dangerous (because he has nothing to lose) fighter. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, leaning towards the former scenario I guess, but Iole is that other end of the spectrum. He sounds dumb.

Oscar is the worst thing to happen to boxing since Bob Arum got a license to promote.

A lot of boxers have a problem with De La Hoya and Golden Boy. They started their enterprise by saying they would clean up they sport, they would bring clarity to the titles, they would bring boxing back to the networks etc etc

meanwhile, they put out ppvs with awful undercards, blowing a great opportunity with Mayweather DLH and the Hatton fight. They are attempting to lock up the light weight division and ignore Campbell and Santa Cruz. Then they purchased The Ring, which opens up a whole nother door for hypocrisy.

It seems as though there is a possibility that they'll turn The Ring belt into something similar to the UFC belt. When they can, they'll only do business in house.
