Kevin Holland is First A level Athlete in UFC

@original doom also there was a study done that the 225 rep to 1RM calculation is accurate. So average NFL 1 rep is around 175-185 kilo which puts them in the middle of that elite rugby bench list. Top nfl benches would destroy the top bench rugby list.

TLDR average college prospect player has bench greater than most of the top 20 best rugby bench max. Top NFL bench max exceed top rugby bench max across the board

well you could be correct. i expected more from rugby.

That's subjective but certainly not a set of 3 sports including baseball FFS.
Basketball and football are also pretty incomplete sports so none of those two.

I think the only 2 team sports which could have a case as a relevant standard are rugby and hockey.
I’m a big hockey fan and what some of those guys can do is incredible, but of we’re talking pure athleticism, you aren’t finding an Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett or DK Metcalf in the NHL. When you think about the most common athletic attributes...strength, speed, agility, fast twitch reaction time and explosiveness, hand eye coordination, etc. The NFL is the cream of the crop. Don’t let an lumbering post career Greg Hardy fool you.

You must've forgotten about Marcus Jones. He was a first round draft pick and played in the NFL for 7 years. Didn't work out too well for him fighting, but granted he was knocked out by other fellow A level football athletes in Matt Mitrione and Brendan Schaub

That guy’s body was destroyed at that point. Not a good example.

Rugby and hockey players are slow and weak compared to football players. Their agility is also lesser than nfl skill positions. There was a rugby player , recently, who tried out the NFL, and failed. He was decently fast but lacked agility, vision and other intangibles that make the difference between NFL and rugby. He was an elite rugby player and couldn't make a single nfl roster

Why would they train to run a kilo when they don't have to? Endurance is simply training there's nothing athletic about it. Rugby guys can train 24/7 and will never be big, strong, fast and agile enough to play football. Christian Wade and Hayne already proved this. Arguably two of the fastest most explosive rugby players in recent history and barely making practice squads. NFL guys could spend one off season training for cardio instead of burst and destroy rugby

Lol theres 3 types of rugby. Rugby league, rugby union and rugby 7s. Hayne was not one of the most explosive nor physically gifted players in the league competition. Theres countless players much quicker. Dont get me wrong he was gifted but honestly not that special in outright speed. Considering he was 27 and had never played nfl once is in his entire life and was still signed for a season purely on his physical attributes goes to show that physically he was gifted enough. The entangibles such as play routes etc etc were his biggest downfall. Couldn't make it into the Fiji 7s team for the Olympics either.

Dunno about Wade. English union player . Jordan Mailata was a under 20s league player. Now starting left tackle for the Eagles. Sure needed injuries to claim the spot. Looks like he'll keep it tho. Big rugby union players are 6'8, 6'10
280lbs + . They still use substitutions not interchange like rugby league. Meaning once your are subbed off, you don't get to come back on. So cardio is a massage requirement. Not just a year training as you'd like to imagine. Also the ability to hit and get hit all day is a massive requirement.

Topspeed of a nfl player in 2019. Brandon Wilson. 22.03 mph . In 2020 Raheem Mostert 23.09mph

Rugby league - Josh Addo-Carr has bolted clear to reclaim his title as the NRL's fastest man having been clocked at 37.2km/h. ( 23.115mph)

Rugby union -, Johnny may 23.431mph

Rugby sevens are the quickest. Sevens is a different kettle of fish of course, and merits discussion separately from the 15-man code. Sevens athletes - rugby union's speed specialists - regularly hit ranges between 35 to 38kph 21.748 mph to 23.6mph

Carlin isles has the fastest metre per second speed Isles has recorded on the pitch was a stunning 11.5m/s or 25.725 miles per hour (41.4 kph).

So hilariously. Despite your claims of nfl players being " faster " All 3 rugby's have faster players than the nfl .

Full pads vs no pads

Former rugby player Christian Wade was the third fastest in the NFL pre-season in 2019
a speed just 0.1mph from the fastest.
Most top players play little to no time in preseason. It's more for borderline players.

We can also put this to bed with 40 yard dash times. A 4.8 40 yard dash in the nfl is slow. Linebackers run that. 4.8 translates to ~23.35 mph. Good 40 times are 4.4-4.6s, great times are sub 4.3. good effort though.

Christian Wade ran a 4.53 btw. Slow for a skill position, lacks explosion

Bro that’s how weak mentality are created. That’s what makes them soft. Rofl ya let me flop around so I can get some extra free throws. Same “athlete” gona be going down from body kicks flopping around like they just got their nuts kicked.
tbf some fighters do this as well, but they def get a shit ton of heat for attempting it

I'm having trouble here, could someone please post the official criteria for being considered an "A-level" athlete? I would have thought medaling in Olympic wrestling would have qualified, but what do I know?
Criteria:
- Be black
- American
- Play in NFL or NBA
- Be tall
- Be able to dunk
- Get good numbers at the combine

Pretty much how amerifats sees it.

Stipe is a fighter who finally found his calling. Thats like claiming Tyson Fury is a bum because he didnt do basketball.
Except Stipe tried his luck in baseball and couldn't even come close to hacking it as a professional. Same with Ferg and we see what both of them did. Ask stipe and ferg if they would rather go the MLB route or the UFC and their Reebok coupon route and the answer is always for the professional ball sport making millions and millions more than they ever could in the UFC.

Do you mean how fighters claim getting hit by illegal punches, kicks and eyepokes, wich clearly didn't happen ??
Damn those weakass bitches, maybe they should try chess.
What’s the turnout rate of that between fighters and your a level athlete flopping?

Those same free throws are the difference between getting winning a championship, being brought back the next year, getting a raise or a pay cut.

The soft mentality is the one who sticks his chest out and says "I'd rather lose in style than win ugly."
Ya when was the last time a championship won by foul?

Or how about this, hear me out, its a wild theory but here it is: Maybe they just wasn't good enough baseballers?
