Kevin Holland is First A level Athlete in UFC

Why would they train to run a kilo when they don't have to? Endurance is simply training there's nothing athletic about it. Rugby guys can train 24/7 and will never be big, strong, fast and agile enough to play football. Christian Wade and Hayne already proved this. Arguably two of the fastest most explosive rugby players in recent history and barely making practice squads. NFL guys could spend one off season training for cardio instead of burst and destroy rugby

Oh endurance is not part of being athletic eh.

People need to stop with the A-level athlete stuff. We've seen it with Marcus Jones, Nate Robinson, and Johnny Morton. Punching power and chin are unrelated to athleticism. You can even look at Liddell-Randleman. Guillard-Stevenson, the list goes on.

I’m pretty sure sherdog judges this on whether or not said fighter has previously been a basketball GOAT contender. Since Holland has not, he can’t be “A” level.

you mean too tell me your average nfl player is benching 175 kg (please use kg) for 20 reps. i dont belive this at all.

show some proof of this.

oh hang on your saying equivalent, so theres no actual footage of this.
There's tons of footage, every player combine is recorded. Here is a punter doing 25. They do reps of 225.

Pretty sure its Holland’s kung fu background that makes him so good.

@original doom also there was a study done that the 225 rep to 1RM calculation is accurate. So average NFL 1 rep is around 175-185 kilo which puts them in the middle of that elite rugby bench list. Top nfl benches would destroy the top bench rugby list.

TLDR average college prospect player has bench greater than most of the top 20 best rugby bench max. Top NFL bench max exceed top rugby bench max across the board

Lower weight classes are most certainly a level as there is no alternative for them. Higher weights is debatable. The few A level athletes we have seen at heavyweight for example have had moderate success despite minimal skill (schaub, mitrione, lesnar, carwin, etc) all top 10 guys with lesser skills than the overeems, Werdums and nelson's of the world. We're they champs, only Lesnar but they still did well and in no other sport could that happen
Overeem was champ in every org but UFC(No Bellator). A- Level Athlete confirmed.

Anyone can have endurance. There are loads of fat guys running marathons every year

You don't think there are levels to endurance? According to your définition only explosiveness is a marker of athleticism. You NFL sumos would not last 10' of a hockey and rugby match.

Not all A-levels can take a punch...

Yeah pretty much. We dont know how well the A level athletes can take a punch and continue fighting.

You must've forgotten about Marcus Jones. He was a first round draft pick and played in the NFL for 7 years. Didn't work out too well for him fighting, but granted he was knocked out by other fellow A level football athletes in Matt Mitrione and Brendan Schaub

that whole season was full of ex athletes lol

Bro that’s how weak mentality are created. That’s what makes them soft. Rofl ya let me flop around so I can get some extra free throws. Same “athlete” gona be going down from body kicks flopping around like they just got their nuts kicked.

you are as dumb as it gets

poor lad

Wtf are the weird russian captions saying???

I'm having trouble here, could someone please post the official criteria for being considered an "A-level" athlete? I would have thought medaling in Olympic wrestling would have qualified, but what do I know?

I didn't say only explosiveness. Speed, agility, hand eye coordination, strength, explosiveness are all factors of athleticism. Rugby and hockey players fall behind NFL players in every category except endurance. Why was Jarod Hayne an NFL failure? The only rugby player who has found his way on to a field recently was a offensive lineman due to multiple injuries. His endurance from rugby is zero help to him, he struggles due to his lack of power , explosiveness, agility, footwork and hand work although he is making improvements he may end up an average nfl lineman , but was a rugby superstar prospect

Edit the lineman is
Jordan Mailata
