All fighters should look too these two guys as examples of how too do it right. Holland made around 500k this year (well deserved), potential fighter of the year, and now is a known exciting name because of the work he put in. chimaev came up huge in popularity and now is fighting a no 3 ranked guy and will be potentially fighting for the title by the end of 2021. If fighters want too make a name and want too get paid they need too fight more often. That will keep the momentum going. Chandler signed with the ufc end of sept. Once rda pulled out, that was his time too show the fans he’s game and win or lose his popularity would of sky rocketed. I’m sick of these guys picking and choosing and whining only fighting 1 time a year.

Holland money is doing to be taxed and he wasn't hurt in any of his matches so he doesn't have to sit out for recovery. I think fighters should be smart with their bodies.

I think you have to perpetually put Glover Texeira on the "anywhere, anytime" list with that old-school fighter mentality. I legit believe Glover only 50/50 cares if the check clears.

In no uncertain terms, most fighters in their 20's are willing to throw caution to the wind and go for the brass ring (which is champion and multi-million-dollar paydays). And it's awesome. $12k/$12k, $20k/$20k, some $50k bonuses, it can definitely add up.

But also in no uncertain terms, many of them come to regret it in their 30's, when they aren't champ, on a 2-3 streak, the love is gone from both fans and management, and they're being offered tough ass opponents with no upside for what feels like little money (but what in their 20's felt like a lot).

Like TS I also love these fighters. I just wish they didn't have to try so hard to protect themselves.

It's much easier to be extremely active when: 1) you're a young fighter; and 2) you're fighting low-level competition and winning easily. It's completely different when we're talking about someone who's in their 30s and has been fighting good competition for 10 years. These aren't apples to apples comparisons.

That being said, I do agree with the overall premise that fighters should be a bit more active.

Kiiiinda unfair to lump him in with the category of Fighters that have JUST now burst onto the scene as far as the UFC is concerned(Barring Holland). Holland fought and lost to Santos yeah, but he has still spent less time in the UFC than Green but has made more noise in a short amount of time.

Bobby Green's time as an active fighter dates back to 2013, while Holland has been around since 2018. He has more years in the UFC than both Holland and Chimaev combined and doubled...

Holland I agree with. Guy put in his work, reaped the benefits of his hard work and has now out himself in a position to change his life forever.

Khazmat I disagree with. He's an example of business politics and promotional wants over competitive spirit. He beats up 2 no names and an unranked guy and somehow he's a win away from a TS. That's BS imo. He's an example of what's wrong with the sport.

Yyyyyyyeah, but the one thing that Holland and Khamzat has is that they've spent relatively FAR less time than Green and became household names not even half a decade into their careers.

Green's had 7 years to make a name for himself and become a fan favorite, and he hasn't really done that to be honest. Bobby Green's a good guy, solid guy even, and this is not a knock on him but even if we're going off IG he still has less than 50k Followers, whereas Fiziev got a nod from Conor and has nearly 5x as much followers and he's been in the UFC for just one year so far.

Even going by that metric he's not really a name that holds mass appeal. I don't mean to be THAT guy and it's okay to like Green, but let's not make him something he's not. The numbers don't even support that argument. If he was a name, he'd have a relatively decent following even for MMA Standards and would thus get the promotion behind him, but unfortunately for him that hasn't been the case.
