Kentucky Derby...and Beyond?

==========

Race 7;

#5 Hollywood Handsome 4/1 - 515.0
#2 Adulator 3/1 - 512.3
#6 Casses Story 6/1 - 504.7
#7 Virtual Machine 5/1 - 499.8
#4 Tapsolute 6/1 - 493.7
#1 General Downs 10/1 - 488.0
#8 Admiral Blue 7/2 - 482.0

Not sure how I'm going to play this yet beyond the fact that I'd like to play the #6 horse here more than the others. Maybe win bet that one and then ex & tri box the top 3. Maybe.

==========

- The #6 to win for $12
- Two $6 exacta boxes with the #5, #6 and then the #2, #6
- Then a #5, #2, #6, #7 trifecta box for $1

Didn't want to include the #2, #5 exacta combination since it looks like those two are probably going to be the top two choices.

Got the #2, #6 exacta to almost double my money that race, but would have been much better if the #6 had another length in him. Would have paid 7/1 to win and the exacta would have paid 30/1 instead of the 17/1 it did. Still a nice run by the #6, though, as a NPT and E2 horse going in.

Jesus. 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th with the big favourite ruining everything of mine by finishing 3rd. Fuck.

Just saw the results bud. Not much you can do there. So close.

Those suck worse when you can find reasons to play against an overbet favourite then have two of your horses beat it and yet have nothing to show for it. That was probably a 150/1 trifecta and 500/1 super that we weren't too far off from getting, T. Would have been very nice to say the least.

Might as well try a few one turn sprint races at Evangeline before I call it a day;

In race 4 there I may play the #7 to win for $20 as the outside speed in the race with it having paired up it's last two races. Then play some $5 trifectas like so; #3, #7 over #3, #7, #1, #2 over #3, #7, #1, #2.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the #7 will get a win bet from me as it's sitting 12/1 currently, and the will-pays say it should be either the 3rd or 4th choice in the race.

Hopefully that's the end of the showers there at the track. Weather was clear one minute and started pissing down the next. Looks like it's stopped, though. For now anyways.

Surprised the #7 is still 9/1 with just a minute to post. I'll take it if they give it.

Isn't that ridiculous, T? The funny thing is he seems all giddy about it too. Or maybe that that is a sad thing. I don't know. Actually, what would be sad if someone out there paid money for that kind of betting advice.
Thoughts on Frankel?

He was brilliant. Off the top of my head he was probably the best grass horse I've seen in the last decade or two.
I ask because me and me sis were trying to establish the greatest turf horse of all time. Better than Sea Bird, in your opinion? You got a better offer?

In race 5 I'm going to try the #6 to win/place, and then play three separate $5 exacta boxes with him and the #1, #2, and #8.

The #6 is 20/1 with 15 mins to post, but he won't be anything close to that come post time. The will-pays do suggest he'll be the best price of the 4 main contenders here, though.

I'm not sure to be honest. I don't keep up with the turf as I do the dirt. Especially internationally. How about Ribot or Mill Reef as a couple of possibilities, though? *shrugs*

W/P for $8/$10, the $5 exactas, and then I'm going to key the #6 over the #1, #2, #8 in some $2 tris. $60 risked in total, which is another $60 I'll never see again.

#1, #8, #2, #6 was the order. Not that it paid much as far as supers go (92/1), but the thought of boxing them in the super was on my mind intially.

#2, #1, #5 trifecta box for $5 in race 6 and then I give up since my brain doesn't seem to know how to make smart bets despite finding a lot of the right horses.

Actually I'm going to go #2, #1 #5 exacta box for $8, and then a trifecta box for $2. It's a big enough field and I am trying to beat out the #7 horse who was the morning line favourite. Little insurance in case I have another play against favourite that finishes 3rd.

Wow, this #7 horse is getting all the money. 8/5 with a minute to post. This should pay well if I can beat it out of at least the top two. Fingers crossed.
