The man is carrying franchises on his back.
Matrix: Trilogy, John Wick: Trilogy.
Starring in classical movies: Point Break, Devil's Advocate, Speed, Dracula.

I always found it funny that he got shit for his acting, but yet he carries franchises and completes good movies. He's the less macho version of Clint Eastwood who carried the whole Western genre on his back until it passed.

He's even acting when on his break.

I could get on board with that.

Leo is the most overrated actor in cinematic history.

The movies he is in now suck. Do explain that.

He loves acting and takes low budget flicks directed by nobodies.
Did you know he gave up 38 million in rights to Matrix 3, so that the movie could have a better CGI/visual effects budget? That's commitment to acting.

some random anecdotes from people who have interacted or worked with him:

“Back in the late ’90s and fresh out of college I got my first job as an assistant prop designer on the set of Chain Reaction (Keanu was a supporting actor with Morgan Freeman). EVERY DAY for the last few weeks of filming, Keanu treated the stage hands and ‘grunt workers’ (including myself) by taking us out for free breakfast and lunch. He was genuinely a very nice guy to work with. Since then, I’ve worked on about 30 different sets and have never met an actor as generous and friendly as him.”

“A family friend builds movie sets, doesn’t design, is one of the poor dudes that just builds. Anyways he worked on the set for The Matrix and Keanu heard about family trouble he was having and gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus to help him out. He also was one of the only people on the set that genuinely wanted to know people’s names, would say hello and mean it, and would talk to people as if they were his peers and not below him just because they were practically making nothing to build a set.”

Reeves is reported to have taken an $80-million-sized chunk out of his $114 million Matrix trilogy paycheque and handed it over to the makeup and effects team for their hard work on the films.

Here’s Reeves talking about his not-famous pals during his Reddit AMA last year: “I saw some guys at a gas station once who had hockey equipment in their car, and I asked them what they were doing, and they said they were playing street hockey, so I asked them if I could play. So I became involved in a street hockey game that took place every weekend for over 10 years, every weekend, red vs. black. We would take holidays off and sometimes summers, but the game was going on for over 10 years. That was cool to be a part of.”

He puts audiences to sleep. Too complex of a pun?
Decaffeinated coffee doesn't put people to sleep though. It just fails to wake them up.

Your list of "classical" movies was a good joke though.

Leo was just in far better movies. Keanu might have been the only thing going for those movies. I can see Keanu going the way of Nicholas Cage

The departed, wolf of wall street, django, shutter island, gangs of New York, inception, the revnant.... straight bangers

Don't think he will win Oscars, but he's a very dedicated actor and genuinely an upstanding person from what I read.

Leo DeCafrio?
Val might've been trying to say "smelling contest". And subtitles got it missmelled.

Ts might have been trying to say "Leo DiCaffeinatio". He might have. How do we know he might not have?

P.s. ok, I'll see meself out.

It helps he clearly has a good idea of his own abilities post millennium, I can't recall seeing many/any films were I felt his performance let the film down.

Leo is I think clearly the better actor although I would say he really hasn't had many roles I would call truly icon the way say Pacino(Godather 1 & 2, Dog Day Afternoon, Scarface etc) and Deniro(Godfather 2, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, King of Comedy etc) do.
