" I had actually agreed to fight Helen Harper (another of the contestants on the show) for another organisation for my strawweight debut that same day! I messaged her when I got home and said, 'I guess I'll see you in Vegas!'"

"I knew Irene Cabello Rivera, as we were both signed to Cage Warriors and I'd watched her fight on the European circuit. She'd already had 8 pro fights by the age of 22 and I knew she had a dangerous submission game and had never been finished... I'm usually pretty critical of my performances, but I out grappled someone with good jiu jitsu and got a great stoppage. I think I could have finished the fight a lot earlier if I had focused on ground and pound rather than hunting for submissions, but I still got the job done."

"I actually fought and lost against Joanna Jedrzejczyk before she came to the UFC and think the subject will come up a fair bit... It was a few years ago now and both our games have changed and evolved. I have no issues with being around her, though, and I'm pretty certain Joanna doesn't care in the slightest."

Kate is Miss Anonymous at the moment but she's the most experienced of the British contingent and could well end up winning the whole thing.

Interesting that we get some criticism here by Kate (a Team Claudia member) of the coaching of Team Claudia:

" I think part of the problem with the second round is that Claudia's coaches were really keen on us getting the body triangle when we were on someone's back (something I'm personally not a fan of) and it meant that Eric was really low on Elias's long body and it made it that much harder to sink in the choke or transition to anything else."

Yes it was an informative article, I also liked one of her comments in the Q&A the other day where she pointed out that Gadelha turned up with her four regular coaches whereas Joanna had her two Polish coaches for just three weeks apiece and then two US based coaches (Drysdale and Woirin) with the quartet made up by her Brazilian manager. That, together with blue getting the two first picks and red immediately losing control of the ability to choose the fights and you have the makings of a whitewash.

I'm hoping to see Jackson and Suarez in the final, although I can see why Dana might prefer Cooper and Green.

This is Jackson's victory over Bonkowska from Joanna's gym. Her brother coached the first 3 weeks of the show.
