very close fight. even one of the judges scored it a draw 28-28.
Im not crazy about the rematch but I want to see full camp Usman vs full camp Khamzat
Me too, and 5 rounds!

Chimaev knows he loses a 5-rounder, against a prepared bluesman.

Khamzat never wants to see Kamaru again.

If the fight gets stretched into the later rounds yeah it definitely starts leaning heavily Usman's way. Still a coin flip whether Usman could survive the first round again no matter how long of a training camp he has though.

The tortoise and the hare analogy.

In reality, Khamzat had ONE good ground against Usman, completely dominating him.

After that, Usman kicked Khamzat's ass, the latter of whom "laid and prayed" for two rounds ...

Two more rounds, I think Usman knocks Chimaev TF out.

I wanna see Usman take out someone at 185 so people can stop calling him just some WW. They can rematch if appropriate, Khamzat has had the longest path to a title for a guy who's looked pretty unstoppable.

very close fight.
Only after Khamzat tore the ligament in his hand

Wouldn't mind seeing if a full camp Usman would be able to stop the complete domination Khamzat displayed in the 1st round pre injury though

Personally hoping Usman stays at WW and fights Shavkat tho

No thanks. Khamzat beat him clearly.

Give Usman Luque or Burns II, I guess.

Nothing at 185 makes sense for Usman. He can't fight higher than #9 theoretically considering he lost to Khamzat and deserves better than fighting the #10-15 dudes.

Lol at clearly. Learn definitions of words

Well, I don't think you want to argue definitions because Khamzat CLEARLY beat him. You can quite literally check wiki to confirm.

But I'll still bite on the point you were trying to make - You have to give both 50/50 rounds and completely discredit the grappling and count all of Usman's strikes as impactful and Chimaev's as ineffective in order to get to .... a draw.

Usman has no argument for a win and couldn't even convince 2/3 judges to agree with you.

I'm kind of leaning towards seeing some fresh matchups, and Usman just feels more at home in the 170 division than at 185. Usman squaring off against Shavkat would have been awesome, but with Shavkat out with an injury, I like how Usman matches up with Thompson. As for Khamzat, him going up against Cannonier just makes total sense to me. Whoever comes out on top there should totally take on the winner of Strickland vs DDP or the winner of Whittaker vs Costa, especially since it looks like Adesanya's going to be up against DDP if he gets past Strickland.

BRB gotta check with Khamzat haters in this thread to see if I should think that Kamaru will win or Kamaru isn’t a competitive fight because he’s 80 with no knees or legs.

Ok I’m back. Kamaru is now once again right back in the “wins easy” column so he’s got this in the bag. Unless he doesn’t. Then Kamaru is 80, 4 weight classes below Khamzat, and was on life support due to a lack of body parts

Do you even know what you're watching, when MMA fights are on? You seem to have no fucking clue, just making up shit about fights.

If you think that was "an ass kicking", you clearly didn't watch the fight

Let’s do it. I enjoyed it and wanna see 100 % usman
Usman doesn't have the necessary length and mass (slightly under 185 standard) to complete with Top 10.

He got the skillsets, but a 6'0"+ Barefoot tall and 220-230 Fight Night lbs fighter is needed to be highly successful in this division.

I'm sick of the Ultimate Rematch Championship, their first fight was good and Usman deserved a draw, but time to move on and fight Shavkat
Nah he didn’t deserve a draw, the fight wasn’t close. Khamzat had a 10-8 first round and controlled him in the 3rd round. Usman didn’t land anything in the fight significant to win the fight. The only dominant moments were khamzats

What did Usman even do in the fight? It wasn’t close at all. He was controlled and dominated. Even when Khamzat took off the 2nd round Usman didn’t do anything

Nah.

Why would Khamzat be interested in an immediate rematch? What would beating Usman again do for his standing in the MW division?

If Kamaru is serious about a move to MW, he has plenty of big fights ahead of him and this rematch could make more sense later.
