Kamaru Usman says Colby Covington: “...in the top-15 welterweights of all time”

Nah. He's not. He definitely could be with his skill set and his seemingly endless cardio though. He doesn't have the resume to support that claim currently.

Yup. Colby got robbed the first time around. Imagine if he could have followed up with punches right after that body kick. It would have been a 2nd round finish for Colby.

Yea I do agree Usman would have got robbed, but instead he TKO'ed Colby, broke his jaw, then made him run out of the ring like a bitch.

Also you forgot to post the video where Colby faked an eye poke after Usman punched him in the face LMAO.

However, will he lose early or after usman faking nut shots to get bailed out again when hurt?

Yea kind of like the way Colby faked an eye poke after Usman punched him in the face.

Of course you purposely left that part out.

Colby lacks KO power. If he had that, he would be a total beast. Can't wait for the rematch

Who is clearly better than Colby?

- GSP
- Hughes
- Usman
- Shields
- Lawler (Colby has a victory against him but Lawler from his championship run would sleep him)
- Pre-Usada Hendricks
- Woodley (again, Colby has a victory against him but Woodley is a former champion who actually defended, it must count for something)
- Fitch

I think you can begin to argue Colby at this point. I put him on par or around Koscheck, personnally

Khabib talked to a Usman a couple weeks ago and told him that Colby is gonna be his hardest fight. Usman agreed and he's training for it.

Honestly I think this fight is gonna be an absolute banger. I like Usman a lot but I think Colby pulls off the upset (whom I'm also a fan of).

Colby has become the guy who gets more mileage out of a loss than any fighter in mma history. Gustafsson can finally rest easy

All time lists are almost as pointless as pound for pound lists

MMA is too young for these all time great discussions. Every 5 years new fighters arrive and the all time list changes completely.

Yeah, Colby probably is in the current 15 all time WW list... If he doesn't get the belt he won't be anymore in 5 years time.

Chronological sequence much? What happened first?

Colby's good. Usman's always given him props. He praised his fighting ability shortly after their first fight on JRE. This isn't just an attempt to hype their upcoming fight.

I still don't see how anyone can hate on Usman after the last two years. The guy has grown as a fighter exponentially. I hope he beats the breaks off of Colby again.
Some people understandably question his natty status (i too am not so sure, but i guess i'll give him the benefit of the doubt as long as he doesn't pop) but aside from that i agree with you, he actually became pretty fun to watch and he's obviously insanely skilled and even has a claim for being the currently best fighter on the planet.

Until a guy gets popped it's all speculation. He's clean in my eyes. The guy has gotten so much better its almost unfathomable.

Yeah, agreed. Keep in mind i'm not saying that he's on something and i would like for his success not to be based on PEDs anyway, because i like the fights.

As for your second point: that's what Wittman does to people.
The guy truly transforms fighters' striking and Usman's improvements there are particularly crazy when you think about the fact that it's not been long since he started training with Wittmann.

If Usman had healthy knees and a bit better striking defense, he'd be unbeatable - at this point, he already almost seems to be at times.

MTB and Wittman are the two best coaches right now, in my eyes.

Who's MTB again?

Fully agree with Wittman. Some time ago someone said it's lazy that people act like Wittman would just make any MMA fighter's striking better, but in reality, he does, lol.

Mike Brown, but I was a fan of his as a fighter and he went by Mike Thomas Brown.
