A ‘ridiculous’ amount of money?

I’m not sure even the two of them combined are a huge PPV draw that warrants ridiculous money.

I’m not a huge fan of cross weight class fights, but if Izzy beats Whitaker, a fight with Usman would be interesting. There’s not much else left in either weight class for the champs.

I think there is still a handful of fights for Izzy.
Usman has a healthy number of contenders as well. A fight between the two is not really appealing (would still watch)

So you'll rather watch Israel fight a bunch of rematches. What's left for Israel, Sean Strictland? You find that fight exciting?

Usman has no one left really. WW is a wasteland at present. MW is just as bad.

The arguments for not doing the fight really don’t make sense to me. So they are from the same country. Well wouldn’t it be historic for 2 Nigerian champs to share the octagon as the ppv headliners? And assuming the fight takes place at MW. Usman keeps his WW belt no matter what. So he either becomes an even bigger dbl champ. Or Izzy wins and they both are still champs. It’s not like either guy is undefeated.

I honestly don’t see a downside to them fighting eachother. And this both being from the same country is just not a good excuse for not doing the fight.
 
I would love it if one of these guys would just be honest and say "No, that guy scares the hell out of me. I am not moving up to fight him".

What we hear is:
  • No, we were both born in the same continent. I can fight him
  • No, i'm not fighting him cause I want to fight at 205
  • Yes, I'll fight him for 3 Billion dollars and 20% shares in the company

plus they got that brotherhood thing
when it comes down to it, it won't be as violent as it should be
