1. Leon is already next in line. It's all but done. Usman/Leon 2 will be officially announced before Khamzat/Burns even happens.
2. You are way too sure about Khamzat beating Burns.
3. KO'd stiff is what Bisping was vs Hendo. Leon wasn't anything near that.

-- Why exactly hasn't the UFC officially announced Khamzat's next fight? The guy fought more than 3 months ago and took zero damage.

-- There are some petty mofos on these forums. Usman has seemingly done everything we ask of a champion. He had to grind his way up to the title because the UFC forced him to take the long road (9 wins before getting the shot). He has wins over a ton of top fighters (Colby x2, Masvidal x2, Burns, Woodley, RDA, Maia, Strickland, Leon). He's one of the most active champions in the UFC (3 title defenses in 2021). And he's put on great fights in 4 of his 5 title defenses. Yet we still see basement-dwelling sherdoggers still hating for nonsensical reasons.

Chimaev is a nice prospect but he hasn't proven to be top 5. Who has he beat that was top 10? What I see is a nice undefeated record, only 10 fights, 4 in the UFC and none where ranked opponents.

If Chimaev beats Giblert Burns I absolutely see the UFC making Chimaev vs Usman.
I mean that's WHY they've got him fighting Burns. It's "get past him....and you got your title-shot".

At most one more after that but yes a title shot after a finish win is very likely.

I'm awaiting this potential matchup with great interest. One of the biggest fights from a hardcore POV. It will be even bigger if Khamzat manhandleds Burns. Idk if that will happen, but so far Khamzat hasn't looked like he has a lot of weaknesses.

I'm sure he thinks he can win but Khamzat smashes him.

Every once in a while someone comes around that you just know will be a great. Like him or hate him, there was a similar feeling with Jones. Where you just knew him becoming champ was inevitable. Khamzat feels even more special.

People said Usman was ducking Colby before they ever fought, then after he beat him they said he was ducking a rematch. I think Khamzat has all the skills to beat Usman but nothing Usman has done indicates that he is trying to duck Khamzat, or anyone for that matter.
