I remember when Jermain Taylor fought Arthur Abraham, his cornerman was asking him to do something similar. Pull down the arm and throw the right hand. It was the first time I heard of it, but I don’t recall Taylor pulling it off in the bout.

Abraham was able to get a very memorable KO late in the fight, however...

Arthur Abraham had one of the most stubborn defenses. I will never forget him beating Edison Miranda with a completely destroyed jaw, bleeding from the mouth

He really stepped through it. Not a typical boxing style punch with that full commitment, but it was the perfect mma right hand..


Pulling the hand down was cool, but it wasn’t blocking that shot. George was just looking to roll his face a bit boxing style, but again, the punch was thrown (with proper technique) street fighter haymaker/mma style. It’s not “less skilled” striking, and boxers coming into mma would get KOd with that kind of punch a lot. Pulling the hand almost helped his momentum and moved him forward even more.

Not trying to troll or anything but pulling the hand is a pretty common thing in boxing, karate and other striking arts. I'm surprised that ppl are so impressed. Nothing unusual about it - but well executed indeed.
