Kamaru Usman Has A Weakness Apparently?

So what is he doing for cardio? Swimming, bike or just endless rounds in training? It’s interesting.

His shoulders are shot too, I'm surprised his stuck around this long at this level when his body sounds like it's completely shot.

I know he does his camps at altitude in Denver and he said on JRE he uses the cross trainer a lot.
 
Maybe make him wrestle, all that wear is from wrestling. Although I think Colby can definitely beat Kamaru standing
 
? Bisping doesn't come from a wrestling background. He picked up grappling during training and competition but his background is boxing, kickboxing etc.
Yeah I know, my man, that's why I'm asking. Because he also has no knees. I'm wondering if that came from taking up wrestling late in life or if it's from running for boxing, kickboxing. Or if it's from something else. I know he walks up his driveway backwards too.

Just curious because he doesn't come from a wrestling background.

Ah fair enough. I can say having been a runner most of my life, it destroys knees. That's why I shifted to an elliptical (that plus knee surgery). Running is brutal on hips, knees and ankles.
 
No kidding. Not to mention, HIIT utilizing things like burpees, mountain climbers, high intensity weight circuits, etc..., will kick your cardiovascular system's ass way more effectively than road work will. With the exception of guerrilla cardio (sprint circuits), running seems rather pointless to me for conditioning.

Usman is the only combat athlete I know of who doesn't run (supposedly) yet has top tier cardio. The other guys with incredible cardio usually say that running is important. Does anyone know of any others like Usman?

None of that is actually truly necessary for MMA/fighting.
In all my training in fighting sport, running has never increased my gas tank. And my main sport is running, I run over 10K each time and have serious "endurance sports cardio", but that doesn't translate into MMA/fighting. I could be gassed in a single round of Muay Thai, simply because the energy expenditure is so different. It's much more of a burst where you're gassed very quick, regardless if you're able to run for hours. Meanwhile in my muay thai gym, there are Pros who never do a single bit of cardio and can go for all rounds without breaking a sweat.

Aside from his knees, Kamaru has a serious case of chicken legs. It's a pretty clear weakness but Colby needs serious improvement to his leg kicks.
 
Could you imagine the amount of pure distilled butthurt if Colby just came out and oblique kicked Snoozeman into a quivering pile of loathsomeness?
