No, I am not posting a misleading title. He literally said it himself.

The prime minister also expressed his personal belief that former ISIS fighters can be de-radicalized in the event that they return to Canada.

“There’s a range of experiences when people come home. We know that actually someone who has engaged and turned away from that hateful ideology can be an extraordinarily powerful voice for preventing radicalization in future generations and younger people within the community,” he said.

Meh, not as stupid as I was expecting. It's a lot like how if you want someone to stay off smack, let them talk to a heroin addict and not a DARE pig.

Use them to monitor/smoke out other potential terrorists

Yeah, let’s try to rehabilitate hardened killers. I’m sure there will be a 100% success rate. This guy is fucked in the head.

Trudeau should be executed for treason alongside the traitorous ISIS scum he worships.

But not if the heroin addict is still smacking it up and will likely encourage others to ride the white pony.

Good point. I would hope that the government would be keeping very close tabs on them.

It's what shook me about that Alt Right school shooter recently, he actually asked for help at one point, to be understood and for a friend and nobody came to help him.

I think radicalization is just interesting to begin with, the sadness and hatred of it all. I can absolutely see the "fucking kill the cunt" most people will post but in this specific instance under the right circumstances I actually agree that returned and deradicalized citizens could be good for teaching others.

The real problem is the Canadian Government is not TRYING to rehabilitate anyone. They are offering to provide funding to groups who say they are offering services to either prevent “radicalization” or to “de-radicalize”, but who mostly attempt to deal with “hate” and discrimination.

Trudeau’s Government has no plan to deal with these people and never did, and no previous government has either (though the previous one did try with some clumsy efforts that the Trudeau government stopped), which leaves them in the current position of saying mind-numbingly stupid stuff and passing it off as a position.

Sure, maybe some are returning because they lost faith in what ISIS is doing. To bet on that is idiotic though.

The more that return, the greater the odds of tragic failure resulting in irreplaceable harm.

I get it, but allow me to play devil's advocate for a second. Some poor sad loner would identify with someone who has been through what he's feeling more than someone who hasn't though wouldn't you agree?

I get what your saying, but we can't be sure who's talking to that sad loner. An ISIS operative, or a former ISIS fighter.

Is that heroin addict getting advice from a recovered (ing) user, or a dealer? To use your analogy.

He is a lunatic with no understanding of the reality of the situation, and the risk that these men pose for society. You're basically trying to play with lions, hoping that they'll co-operate with your virtue-signaling propaganda campaign, taunting the wild animal by putting your head between its teeth, not expecting it to bite out of "gratitude" for the zoo-keeper.

These are men who have killed, raped and pillaged their way through the Middle East. Safe to assume that they will continue their ways in the West, if allowed to. You can come back and be "rehabilitated" from stealing food due to being in poverty, or being a drug addict, you don't come back from being a mass murderer/rapist.

Progress is so powerful because of the amount of people that support it.

Supporting progress is like supporting the Islamic State. You'll notice that both progressives and IS fighters delude themselves and are extremely arrogant.

You make valid points, but one thing I've noticed with those in recovery is the AA style of having the old sponsor, someone who has been through it that you can relate to.

I suppose this would mean very strict monitoring of an individual.

Uh, 2 former smack heads hanging out sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. That's kind of why junkies usually cut out their old friends.

I'm not sure how NA works but I think it's like AA where a former addict who has years in recovery becomes a sponsor.
