I thought he was born in Mexico. I was surprised to find out that he's actually ethnically Mexican. How often does it happen that a kid born from a hispanic parent of brown skin and a white anglo saxon protestant/or german in this case turns out like gaethje? Is this a common occurrence?

Well I mean, Mexico has 126 million people in it while the vikings were a now extinct bunch of raiders from areas that now have around 20 million combined, so this is not hugely surprising. Also Mexicans dont have much combat sports presence outside of boxing compared to somewhere like Russia which has a comparable population but produces elites in boxing, MMA, wrestling, kickboxing etc.

Well yeah of course, the whole viking thing in general tends to be overplayed just because its got cool marketable aesthetics. Its not that hard being a barbaric fuck raiding unsuspecting civilians.
