Fighting like a moron throwing yourself to the ground with over-strikes isn't entertaining to everyone. He's not even remotely in my top 10 most entertaining fighters of all time.

i don't think he was gifted those opportunities. he got those opportunities because of how he fights and he consciously makes the choice to go out and fight that style of fight.

the first fight i ever seen of him i knew he'd be a star as long as he kept fighting that style and winning. you can't tell me that you haven't been excited during at least 1 of his fights. he's this generations Wanderlei Silva.

I’m not thrilled with his style. But I stopped doubting that guy about a year ago.

His last performance was really good.

So the question I ask myself about his next fight is now always..

Is this the guy that can beat him?

It keeps the topic fresh, imo. I am totally 100% looking forward to his next fight.

He definitely is and I'm not even a big fan. I can make the same observation that I prefer more technical fighters without falling into the hipster trap of thinking this makes them more exciting than Gaethje.

I think the semen covering your non-prescription glasses and dripping down to your neckbeards and flannel shirts is affecting your judgement.

All of the other guys mentioned have had sh*t fights in the UFC, something Gaethje never has, and their ratio of performance bonuses, fight of year/KO of year contenders is nowhere near what Gaethje's is.

There's some guys that at their absolute best I'd prefer to watch, but for both UFC and pre-UFC consistency it's frankly not even close.
