Just watched JDS vs Cro Cop for the first time

Most awkward, anticlimactic moment I've ever seen in an MMA fight lol.

so I'm watching the fight all of a sudden JDS decides (out of the fukkin blueee) to throw his hands up and start celebrating while the ref and the entire crowd are all quiet wondering wtf just happened. then the ref calls off the fight because Cro Cop apparently can't see. Idk why but I kept replaying that moment and died laughing every time. something about JDS's random victory battle cry was weird as hell.

At the time I didn't know who JDS was and I was so pissed this no name disrespected Cro Cop like that. Went on to be my favorite HW OAT.
 
Yeah I'm not sure why they gave the first round to Cro Cop. For me JDS was winning every second of that fight. I hold no loyalty nor prejudice towards either fighter. Cro Cop seemed to be shelling up a lot while JDS landed at will. The ending was a little underwhelming, but the fight overall was fun.

Arlovski vs Buentello had the same vibe. So did Pettis vs Henderson 2.
 
There was a whole lot of back n forth eye poking going on in that fight

This. This was back at the time i bought the dvds randomly and had no idea who JDS was and I 'knew' Crocop as some indestructible machine so yeah I was mega pissed and really surprised
 
I remember that fight. UFC 103 I believe?

Cro Cop was a former shell of himself and should have retired long ago. Props to him for wanting to challenge himself against the new generation and for the Gonzaga vendetta but...

The JDS, Nelson, Mir, Congo, Berry and Overeem fights were all just terrible. Although he landed a few nice ones in the Mir fight they were constant circling.

It seemed Cro Cop lost all his speed and stamina, barely did combos anymore, and was mostly circling and circling and circling until he could land a LHK which everyone was watching for anyways.

After some nasty KO's I think he knew his chin wasn't holding up anymore so avoided engagements.

Here's one of few rare nice combos he threw@ end of career...Prime Cro Cop would have dropped
Mir here but you can tell he's just a lot slower and then backs off when Mir's open prolly cuz didn't knew chin was giving out.

JDS is on the same way as Cro COp . JDS Will start losing more and more fighting years are taking its toll
