Just watched Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey again...

It was such a fight of beauty as most of us can agree, Holly was incredible. However during the fight Joe Rogan states (as we may have seen also) that "Ronda is showing holes in her stand up game". I want to know your opinion did Ronda have holes in her stand up game? OR was it that she was trying to strike with a world class champion boxer?

My opinion is that Ronda isnt that bad against an MMA level striker. She just chose to box a girl that was a multiple time champion in the boxing world

She had holes in her game but so would anybody at WBW if they went against Holly with the same gameplan, nobody else at WBW really has good striking except Germaine de Randemie & Shevchenko, Nunes has some power but not much technique, Miesha has no technique or power, Zingano has some nasty knees and elbows but nothing special.


Ronda at least has heavy hands if nothing else, she still beats everybody not named Holly, she's already beaten the current champ twice with ease.

Really man? Yes, her striking is shitty. Hitting mitts in one place is nearly irrelevant to striking on the move. Go watch some high level striking, or even any post 2010 pro mma (male) and tell me how often you see people completely break their stance and run forward with alternating steps into punches. Not once, but time and time again. Her problem isn't with hitting, it's trying to do it on an active, mobile target that hits back. Also, he the cage awareness is poor and she lacks the skills to cut her opponents off, instead charging in a linear fashion and allowing for escapes on either side. And she doesn't kick. At all. Which is striking. And she's rigid and her head is bolt upright. I'll stop, the primary issues are stated above.

It has still been enough to club down other women in her division, but they are all poor strikers too, as well as coming in with the daft gamelan of meeting in the center and trading right hands with a bigger, superior athlete. Anyways.

You're not a real Ronda hater. I've watched this fight 100 times.

To answer your question: anybody with 1 year of boxing training would knock Ron DeRousey the fuck out.

So what? Power punchers get sucked in and that's what counter strikers thrive on, only 1 or 2 fighters at WBW have power, Ronda, Nunes & maybe Zingano.
