Just rewatched Weidman vs Rockhold

Weidman is a supreme talent with weak chin. Man did only half of what he could. Of course, Luke was a bad matchup, maybe the worst, but he was still more than capable of winning.

Yea that loss and beating really destroyed that hype around him.

If herb stops it 45 seconds earlier you never know how Weidman comes back from it but fuck every punch felt like it was taking months of weidmans career...

It's crazy how the horrible stoppage in weidman vs Munoz gets relived and Chris takes the punishment, followed up by the broken leg.
Blah blah. Weidman was always overrated. He beat older brazilians who were way smaller than him. Even his 2 wins over anderson were bad since one was clowning and the other a freak accident leg break.

Vitor had no trt so basically a neutered dog. Machida took him 5 rounds and only lost because of takedowns, machida won that fight in pride rules.

He got starched bad in almost every fight after. Even gastelum nearly put his lights out. Weidman was always a hype job and kept getting high level fights and fell short everytime.

weidmans career has always been the guy who beat anderson silva, thats it.

Weidman probably has nightmares every night about throwing that wheel kick.

Thats what happens when you are close to/train with wonderboy a lot. Suddenly you think its a great idea cause you saw WB do it.

That was a massively late stoppage, and looking back, it probably affected his next performances. Weidman was never the same after that fight.
