Chad was simply tired as hell, after the last takedown attempt that Conor stuffed it seems that his whole energy went down and it almost seems like he gave up before the TKO, he was eating all those punches and didn't heve have energy to move around or block. I think he has a lot more chances to win a rematch than Aldo due to his style. Aldo advantages (good technical aggressive muay thai style and great TD) are not really a great advantage against Conor. Aldo was and is good for that division because the best opponents are good wrestlers with decent striking (but not better than Aldo) and his style works great against them. Conor is kind of lucky that he is not fighting Frankie and Aldo instead. Aldo beats all Conor's bad matchups and Aldo don't have the skills that are required to beat Conor (great grappling/wrestling). What do you think?

Short notice fight for Mendes. He didn't give up. He had nothing left, not to mention Conor was getting in hard shots to the body.

Aldo could definitely take down Conor and out wrestle him, though.

It was 100% due to the fact Chad was gassed. He couldn't even keep his hands up in the 3rd round. You have to have a full camp of intense conditioning to wrestle someone for 3-5 rounds

Aldo will beat him,and so will any grappler like Mendes,Edgar,Lamas,Guida,Kawajiri,Ortega and the list goes on and on.

He started to slow down quite a bit in the later rounds. Now whether it was due to Conor or himself or a combination of the two, it will be impossible to answer.

Conor also looked pretty tired, drained out and slow during the fight.

Chad was clearly drugged before the fight

How do you know? Ive never seen a fight where he used pure wrestling to win. He's not a wrestler.

Not pure wrestling but he has a strong double leg and trips.

He has used as many as 6 takedowns in one fight I believe, vs Hominick, because Hominick was outboxing him.

He also mounts people very quickly after getting them down, his positional BJJ is outstanding.

Chad was gassing round 1, which is why I don't buy the full camp excuse. You seriously going to tell me Chad couldn't even last a minute before slowing down while laying on top of McGregor? Absolutely nonsense. Conor's spinning back kicks and opening flying knee are what did Mendes in.

Why can't it be both?

If he was training and his cardio had been better, he would've been able to eat more shots to the body.

But he's already beaten Mendes and Jose. As for the rest, Guida is too old to beat anyone of note. Ortega hasn't beaten anyone. Lamas would get knocked out. And Edgar would die getting hit by Conor.
