Now I knew coming in that it was very linear but holy shit. 3 hours in and its still one giant hallway. I looked up when the world opens up and apparently it opens up in Chapter 10. I am on Chapter 3. Definitely drags the game down but I'm still enjoying it. The plot is pretty cool. The characters are all fairly likeable except Hope, Jesus what a pussy that kid is. Also wish they toned Lightning down a notch. They try to make her badass way too hard. Also the battle music in this game is the best out of any FF in my opinion (yeah I said it.)

Funny how Louis Vuitton models Lightning.

The battle system was fun but yes it's extremely linear and extremely boring. When you finally get to the part that is open it feels like a breath of fresh air. But it doesn't last long and you're back running straight.

Great. Now that I've put in 3 hours I have to finish it.

I didn't even want to leave the field, because it finally felt fun. But even there it was weird. Square is so far up their own ass. The only thing that kept me playing was the combat system and just to see how it would all play out. I mean how the terrible it would actually get, the actual story was annoying.

I hated it. I had like 15 hours before I quit.

I had to stop the game and read shit in the menu just to have the slightest clue wtf was going on story-wise.

I finished it but it was, by far, the most boring FF of all time. People talk about be linearity, which I agree with, but it was also so incredibly lifeless. The characters, world, and plot was just so mundane and empty.

Aside from the good battle system and soundtrack at times, the game was a massive failure.

My friend had.this and was always trying to tell me how good it was and to give it a chance. Fuck that. Squares games suck now, and they've sucked for a very long time.

The snes games were masterpieces, I don't know wtf happened to them.

I played it literally for 30 minutes and hated itt.

Kind of agree. FFXII was decent and 15 looks like it's going to rejuvenate the series.

Loved what I played of it till a certain infamous boss.

That instantly took away all the joy, and I haven't played it since.

I enjoyed the Battle System and the graphics. That's about it.

The absolute worst of the numbered FF's.

Didn't even finish the game.

Same for me, maybe put about ten hours in, was just a boring experience, i loved every other FF game i've played. I remember being so excited for it releasing. I'm cautiously optimistic about the new one.

Surprised people liked the battle system, I thought it was shit. You can literally set it on auto.

You have to be pretty die hard to stick with it until the end. It's a chore to play.

At least it looks good, though.

i liked 13 at the time. it's biggest thing is it takes way too long to get going, its what 20 hours into the game that you're done the intro relative to other RPGs

thought it was decent but it has almost no replay value or any moments that really stick out for me (except pulse)

story should have been fine but it was delivered poorly, they really went overboard repeating the same things over and over again, coupled with the overwhelming amount of info in the menu. in the end it just felt convoluted and boring

game looks and sounds great though. characters were quite tolerable for the most part, although i agree on lightning being a bit of a tryhard and hope being a :eek::eek:

extremely linear like you said, kind of like ffx, but 13 was almost entirely hallways. at least 10 had an airship, and you could go back to revisit places. also, 13 had no towns - how does a ff game have no fkin towns
