I was at a local sports bar for UFC 196. The cover charge was $12. More than a few people were surprised at this. I got to talking with the guy at the door about the need to offset the exorbitant PPV fees that UFC charges establishments. I assumed it was in the $1,000-1,500 range. He went on to explain that the charges are based on the number of screens and seating capacity of the business. He said that the sports bar was paying between $12-13K to show UFC 196. If that is just the fee for ONE sports bar, I can't imagine how much is generated by thousands of them. The numbers must be staggering.

that must have been a huge bar with shit loads of room. 12k is absurd.

If your talking about how much does the ufc make I'dsay a heck of aa lot considering how much they ask each fan or each group of fans and Iguess this is where iIask when they say we wanna aim for 1 million ppv buys is that 1 million dollars or 1 million iindividual buys because that'd like 60 million made off of ufc 100 and pprobobly last 1 too

There is only one correct answer it's about three fiddy

It's pretty good size. The place was packed. It seems like UFC has sports bars between a rock and a hard place because patrons will flock to other bars if they aren't showing the PPV. The manager I spoke with said that sports bars never make extra money on fight nights. At best, they break even. UFC must be raking it in on those big-draw cards.

they gotta make some profit otherwise they wouldn't do it. they'd just have to pay more wages in having the employees clean up the place.

I got the impression that it's not so much about making profit as it is about avoiding losses. If they don't pony up and pay the fees, customers will flock to the places that ARE showing the fights. Big dollaz.
