problem solved. shit is getting tiresome. UFC has thousands of employees. Just hire a guy to tail the fighter to make sure they don't use salts or use a sauna on location.

"But THE-06, they'll be able to cut weight before they fly to the event" Easy, have fighters come 3 days out before weigh ins. It would be impossible to lose that much water for 3 days.

just ban white belts from making threads

ONE FC banned drastic weight cutting by checking the weight all year round to make sure they are within a certain allowable limit. Matt Hume and Rich Franklin designed the new weigh in procedure.

Hydration tests seems like a good solution. Combine that with moving the weight limits up and you probably solve most of the problem.

Both Diaz and McGregor looked WAY better fighting at 170 pounds.

Year round random weigh in's done at the same time as they are drugs tested, Getting them to step on a scale while they are tested has no extra financial outlay or inconvenience. Give them say a 10 lb limit any professional athlete can keep his weight within 10 lbs easily year round. I can do this easily myself as an average gym rat using myfitnesspal. This would result is very small water weight cuts prior to weigh ins and a far more level playing field.

Except how accurate are hydration tests? What about false positives? Or how about those who are able to pass it, while still cutting weight?

Or make the punishments harsher

First time
-point off at the start of the fight
-35% of wages to opponent

Second time, as above but have to have two fights in weightclass above

Ban mma and erase all records of it

Your suggesting they hire one person to tale every fighter on the card, impossible, if your suggesting they hire one person per fighter, it's too expensive. Plus fighters are already in the fighter hotel 3 days before weigh ins. This is a terrible idea.

What does that solve... Bigger guys would just put up some muscle and cut the same amount of weight

In theory it takes away the 10-15 lbs. that fighters usually cut in water-weight plus keeps everyone in the same groups. The human ability to cheat and get around things will be present no matter what system is in place and I'm sure there are ways to flub hydration tests or whatever else is out there.
