Junior Dos Santos

I wonder if any of the great UFC champs were clean when they managed their two title defenses.

Damn Bro, when you put it that way... I was never a huge fan, but always enjoyed his fights, had a ton of respect for the guy, and always thought he was legit one of the nicest guys in the sport. So, it pains to hear those words said about him, I can only imagine how hard it is for his biggest fans to hear.

But, hey, there are still those who refuse to believe Jones is a cheat, so I am sure some will never accept it.
Sounds like you crave a dick in yo mouth.

The Mark Hunt fight broke my heart. He won with a spectacular KO but he was still doing the exact same things that made him lose against Cain. I knew he wouldn't be getting that title back.

Yeah, and even after the Hunt fight he was still doing the same things. Then he fought Cain for the 3rd time after beating Hunt, and again he did the exact same things. He failed to circle from the fence in time, didn't really improve his countering ability while moving backwards and dropped his hands and tried to move his head too much at the fence, causing him to be hit clean over and over. He didn't only drop his hands simply because he felt like acting like Anderson Silva, it's also because he knew Cain wanted to go for TD's or initiate the clinch, but Cain had the perfect gameplan by throwing punches to force Junior to cover up, and then he'd go for the TD or clinch.

Cain simply just had the perfect gameplan for Junior. He put out the blueprint. He showed how to get around Junior's striking, showed that he has little to nothing while moving backwards and that he basically has 25% fight IQ at the fence or something, if you know what I mean, because he's just not very good there. It's fucked up that he's showing the exact same things from 2012 when he lost to Cain the first time, both offensively and defensively, especially defensively because that's the issue. Listen to Junior's corner in both Cain fights too, it was fucking ridiculous. They told him NOTHING going into each round, told him to do the same things going into each round and were just cheerleaders basically, then listen to Cain's corner and they were basically like geniuses telling him how to keep taking years off of Junior's life.

If he's not a cheater, why did he just piss hot? He's like 19 and he's got almost no hair on his head. Why do people constantly defend fighters failing drug tests? If he took a tainted supplement, that's his fault. As an adult, it's his responsibility to know what he's putting in his body...especially considering the fact that he knows he's going to be tested for banned substances.

I have zero sympathy for drug test failures. The only way to 100% not fail is to not do it. The tainted supplement excuse is a lame one, and they should be tougher on that for trying to insult people's intellegence. Grow the fuck up and have your supplements tested. OR don't fucking juice. There shouldn't be any leniency shown for "tainted supplements".

Cocaine is a hell of a drug dude, set the can down, there is more to life than living in a crack house, and posting on SD from some poor saps stolen I-phone.

Look I know he just got flagged but JDS isn't a cheater, I also know he hasn't looked like his old self, but thats just from the 2 Cain fights. Most likely it's just a supplement issue. But take that away the old Junior, the one who knocked out Cain, is the MOTHER FUCKER, not just a mother fucker THE mother fucker, I think personally that JDS could beat anyone at HW, I hope in his next fight that we see that JDS, he's one of my favorite fighters ever, and is easily top 5 Heavyweights ever, he's also one of the most heart felt and nicest person ever. Also one of the best resumes in MMA.

Good for you.

Maybe Jones and JDS can fight each other with Bork as a special referee in Japan.

They can take all the fucking "supplements" their hearts can take

Not only do I agree with you 100% about the tainted supplements, along with taking dick pills not prescribed by a doc, etc... But, I also love your AV, pure gold!

He looks exactly like his 'old self'. I've said it a million times already and I'll say it again - Junior's problem is that he never evolved. He has relied on the same shit basically since day one. Yes, he was a little better many years ago because he threw legitimate combinations, but for the most part he still relied on the same set ups and ended his attack after the same shots almost every time. The issue is that his opponents have figured him out and know how to take advantage of his biggest hole(s), which is pushing him to the fence and throwing combinations since Junior for some reason loves to drop his hands at the fence and move his head thinking he's prime Roy Jones Jr.

Why he still hasn't improved much on his ability to circle from the fence in time before getting cut off and tagged up, why he hasn't truly improved his counter striking ability while moving backwards (very difficult thing to improve on for some, it's not easy to do at all), why he keeps dropping his hands at the fence, why he's still relying on the same set ups and ending attacks the same way, I really don't know. If Junior doesn't really start changing things up with his attack and just keeps doing the same things, he'll never win the belt again and things are honestly just going to get worse for him.

He has the potential to become champion again if he starts doing different things. He needs to mix his strikes up more with kicks. He needs to update his fucking footwork. He needs to update his fucking counter ability while moving backwards. He needs to keep his goddamn hands up, especially at the fence. He needs to do more than jab, jab, overhand - jab, jab, uppercut - straight right to body, left hook to head - check hook - jab, straight right (1-2) - jab to body - and that's pretty much it. That's like 90% of his attacks and his opponents have figured it out. He never evolved and unfortunately, he most likely never will because he should have after the 3rd Cain fight at least.

It seems he still very much has the same issues. The damage is finally adding up. Skillwise, he's actually better than ever, but IMO I don't think by all that much because he's still doing too much of the same things. He's not as fast/explosive as he used to be, that could be due to the damage and also aging. Overall, Junior actually is still very much the same fighter. He hasn't actually gotten worse. He's the same, he's just been figured out. He's become way too predictable. Both Cain and Stipe knew exactly how to beat him. That was the problem. They knew exactly what to expect and took complete advantage of it and they destroyed him for it.

Obviously some won't agree with this, but seriously watch over all of his fights. He relies on the same attacks. He has the same exact holes today that he did back in 2011 n shit. Junior hasn't evolved at all and that's why he's losing. It's not because he left his prime, it's because his opponents know exactly what the fuck he's bringing to the table and what he isn't bringing to the table. I'm a big fan of Junior and always have been and always will be, but it's sad to see him barely making any changes. A fighter of his level and potential, the guy has more potential than practically everybody in the division but it's like he's not learning anything new at all. He's stuck in the same routine and has been forever and that's why he's losing.

I actually read all of that, and I absolutley agree, he needs to update his style, he's my favorite heavyweight ever, and it breaks my heart seeing him like this, he needs better coaching, they aren't telling him what to do and what not to do, I hope one day he realises this and reinvintes himself like Robbie did.

So he couldn't lift weights like he usually does? He was way softer than normal.

He needed knee surgery after that fight. That definitely would interfere with the squats...

No one gives JDS credit for beating CAIN, STIPE, WERDUM, Mir, Carwin, Big Country and Hunt (spinning kick KO).

I would rank him as 3rd best HW ever behind Stipe and Cain and ahead of Fedor (you heard me Pride fan boys) and Werdum (whom he KO'd).
