I've actually studied this a fair amount during my undergrad and grad studies. I think Myers-Briggs is helpful in understanding why we do certain things. Its not broke.
My pysch professor disagreed with the concept of personality tests because most people generally answer the questions toward the way they want to perceive themselves. They rather not face the hard truth of their personality, or don't know the answer to the question.
