It always got cancelled.Fight is probably going to be cut...there goes my smoke and meal break.
All kiding aside, I hope she's fine and reconsider cutting all this weight for her health sake.
The tall guy who ran in from left is Steve Reed, head of UFC security. He was one of the 3 people who rushed in. Those people are quite along way away, prob 7 or 8 meters off-stage and they ran in as fast as possible. Good thing the vinyl banner gave her a bit of support so she didn't bang her head on the floor. This is the first thing that came to mind watching the clip. How the hell does is she even allowed to stumble for that long without someone intervening ?
No one's died on live TV yet. Even then, I'm not entirely convinced they'll do anything about weight cutting.
Not an accurate analogy. In this case the ufc isn't involved in the weight cut at all, only permit the fighter to take charge of their own health and career.Do you think you should be able to order chicken medium rare from restaurants on the basis that it's "personal choice"?
Or in the cage (after taking shots and not recovering between the weigh-ins and fight time).More and more seems a matter of when not if a UFC fighter dies due to weight cutting
Also, I feel part of the reason UFC when to these non public weigh ins was to avoid someone doing this live on ESPN. That there is a bad look
Tbf it's kind of her fault for cutting too much weight. That is truly scary and horrifying. Hope she’s fine. Words won’t do justice in describing the amount of respect I have for these combat athletes.
I really wish they could just get away from all this weight cutting. Ironically enough, in a sport with knees and chokeholds, it’s the preparation and cutting that’s the most dangerous.

They are professional athletes and they should know their body. Fighters have months to prepare for a fight. Usually this happens if you try to cut too much weight too fast. Either that or she's too big for the weight class and should move up.
Dana and the fans want a fight and blood.
How can you allow a second attempt after a fighter faints his/her way damn near off the stage?
