I like it

I wonder if some edict went down or if some judges started seeing others & followed?

Happening more & more lately

Where was it in Fedor Maldonado?

I hope the corners pick up on it and stop lying to fighters

From: Ok that was close, you may have edged him just keep doing what you do.

To: You just got your ass beat, you're down 3 rounds in a 3 round fight. Do you plan on actually fighting or just failing to coast getting your face wrecked another 5 minutes backing up scared to engage

I really like it, hope they stick with it.

I think it was on a Bellator show a few months back were they spent some time talking about how this was going to be the new norm...it's been trickling in slowly but surely.

I like it as well. I always preferred the pride scoring system where the fight was judged in its entirety. When you give out 10-8 rounds it makes it a bit more like that.

If someone absolutely dominates someone in the 1st round, but the other fighter is saved by the bell, and then the guy that was dominated goes out and lay n prays the next two rounds he really doesn't deserve to win, just because he won 2 out of 3 rounds. That round he was thoroughly dominated should count for more.

About time. The system certainly isn't perfect but it helps when judges actually use scores appropriately.

THIS!!!

Jimmy Smith was talking about how this was something of a "rule change" or change in strategy in judging. I noticed it for that specific Bellator fight, but then the whole concept seem to disappear.

Without a doubt, the last three events this weekend had tons of 10-8 rounds, cant figure out why this abruptly reappeared.

They gave 10-8 rounds in claudia vs JJ
BUT Brock vs Hunt was 30-27 on all cards....wtf???

It's definitely been showing up more on the regional shows. Miletich and Shiaviello have mentioned it as well.

I disagree. I don't think any of the rounds in Joanna vs Claudia, were 10-8. They should be reserved for rounds where one fighter gets knocked down, seriously hurt, and is just trying to survive the round. The round needs to truly be dominant to be 10-8 in my opinion. I don't want to see them thrown around freely, it will only create controversy.

JJ was definitely putting it to Claudia in rounds 4 and 5 but Claudia was not close to being finished, those should be standard 10-9 rounds for Joanna.

The judging in MMA generally seems to be getting better.
