So many of us have probably seen Shaun of the Dead, but did any of you know that there is a Cuban-made Spanish language film called "Juan of the Dead"? Neither did I until a buddy of mine mentioned it to me a few days ago.
I gotta admit, the tag-line "He's Havana Killer Day!" is pretty hilarious in a cheesy kinda way.

I enjoy foreign films and don't at all mind subtitles, even prefer them to English dub most of the time. I also speak a bit of Spanish, albeit very poorly, so I figure this movie will be a great way to watch a zombie flick and brush up on my Spanish at the same time.
Has anyone seen it, and if so, what did you think of it?

Juan is a loser who starts a zombie-slaughtering business after Cuba sees itself overrun by the living dead.

Total Film gave the film three stars out of five, noting the film's "jaunty tone bristling uneasily with often unlikable heroes" but praised its political context, stating that the film "resurrects the genre's political subtexts with jibes at a country where zombies are dismissed as 'dissidents' and public transport continues to run, no matter what."
