Bermane Stiverne (25-2-1-KO21)
Eric Molina (25-3-KO19)
Dominic Breazeale (17-0-KO15)

i'd be happy with anyone other than Molina, who i think will be the choice here

thoughts on these possible opponents for his first defence

i also like the fact he wants to stay fairly active

So Tyson won out July 9.

Would be happy if he fought Brezeale on the June NBC PBC card in the states

My money is on Molina getting it but wouldnt my seeing Stiverne get a shot cause he is a Former World Champion and all.

Stiverrne would be a serious step up. I would have picked Stiverrne to beat Martin.

I would go with Breazeale if I were his team. He looks the best on paper imo being a former Olympian and undefeated.
Although, I actually think he's the worst of the 3.

Do the right thing and pick Showtime. Nobody wants to see you fight Ortiz.

Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn, who promotes the British star, is in talks with HBO and Showtime about an American television contract for Joshua, who is already aligned with the United Kingdom’s Sky Sports, which has an exclusive multi-year deal with Matchroom Boxing to provide the network with its boxing content.

Stiverne is a quality step up and where Joshua should be headed.

Good fight. Stivernes chin could take Joshua into some late rounds.

I don't like the Stiverne fight, I think he's too immobile. AJ pins him down against the ropes and forces a referee stoppage or KO. I don't see that fight going any other way, Joshua fights too upright and safe from distance for his counters to be a danger imo. Maybe if he come out more mobile he could do something but I doubt it.

With that said, he's more accomplished than the other two and it's a good win on paper. I'd prefer to see AJ in with a style that I think can bother him.

Stiverne would be the toughest test. Breazele didn't look all that great against that ripped 40 something dude a few months back...

Stivernes got some pretty deceptive counter speed. He could definitely slip something in while Joshua is looking for the big shot.

Hard to get excited about any of those three... but then Martin wasn't much use either...

Stiverne would be great. Molina a d Breazele are about the same. Molinas win over shot Adamek is similar or better than Mansour biting off half his tongue and having to quit

Stiverne will be the choice.
Molina wont get it and Breazeles camp will be smart and avoid Joshua.

I think Stiverne gives a stern test and is a step up from Martin. He has a chin and can bang. They need to look at putting Josh in with haye/fury/wilder next year so he needs a step up in class

Breazeale!!
Murk that guy out of the division, AJ

But either way.... mad props (Big Ups??) to AJ for even considering Stiverne or Breazeale.

Too many big guys rest on their laurels after a modest step up.... though, hard to see the last guy as a step up.
