Josh Thomson with the most realistic take on Khabib vs Conor

Josh did knock the fuck out of Nate.

Conor.... was getting blasted the first time until panic wrestled and the second time got a narrow decision, doing all the strategic leg kicking stuff that many people made before him.

Punk bless.

Conor's better on the ground than Khabib is on the feet.
That's irrelevant. His skills on the ground don't matter unless it's enough to escape or negate Khabib's ground game, which they certainly are not.

Khabib's stand up defense and footwork are solid. Otherwise, he's lacking but is at least smart enough to know his limits and not strike wildly against better strikers (i.e. Johnson). Regardless, Conor on the feet can still do significant damage.

The only factors that matter are if Conor can stop Khabib from clinching/TDing him and if Khabib can avoid getting hit flush long enough to bring it to the ground.

Think about it this way, if the opposite were true how would that make a difference. The gap in skill in each area is so big that that makes no difference.

Khabib beats Conor

Tasty desserts beat Khabib before he can get to the fight

Khabib wins unless Conor wins

Love when folk call it a narrow or close decision. Wonder what it would be called if it was a split decision.

After the Mendes fight, it must be the most reflected upon fight on here, and brings other sorts of hilarity from some folks mind when they say; 'Mendes was winning 99% of the fight before he got tired'

I'd make Conor a favorite because Conor's ground game is a lot better than Khabib's standup. I think Conor could survive for a while if it went to the ground but Khabib won't last long on the feet. Khabib needs an early takedown because if he only gets it 3,4 minutes into a round Conor can survive until the end of the round and then Khabib has to deal with his standup again.
Well, according to both of these guys and most others, Conor's chances go out the window if Khabib takes him to the ground. So theres that...

MJ was landing well on Khabib early and had him stunned a few times. Conor probably tko's him in the first.
As Thomson said, he landed one solid shot. And it barely stunned Khabib. Just saying...

Conor's better on the ground than Khabib is on the feet.
That doesn't matter. People bring this stuff up all of the time, but that doesn't matter. If the fight goes to the ground, which it most likely would, there is nothing Conor can do to nullify what Khabib will do to him. Nothing.

I also like that Josh Thomson is on the side of MJ having faster hand speed that Conor, which a lot of people have argued. I am on the side that MJ definitely has faster hands. I know all the Conor fans won't admit it, but Josh is smart enough to realize these things.

So the most realistic take on the fight is that Conor doesn't have a chance ?
Ok.
Watch kaboobs fights and count the times he leaves himself open for a striker like Conor to land on him.

Khabib is fighting Barboza Saturday, why is everyone acting like he beat him already

Barboza can catch him with something nasty and that ends every Conor - Khabib talk, so lets wait to see how that plays out before talking hypothetical match ups that may never happen

Meh, I trust my own judgement a lot more that these so called experts.

Khabib nullify Conor, making him looking some sort of bitch in the process
Ufc will not like it, is like theyr last true cash cow

Khabib needs to learn how to always make weight and fight more than once a year.

I don't think it's instantly over if Khabib gets a takedown. But if he keeps Conor down for an period of time, or is able to land them easily from the start.. yea it's his fight.

Khabib deserves to be the favorite, but we saw Conor vs Mendes, Conor got taken down, got beat up, and got back to his feet and won. Khabib is going to have to break him, I expect it to stay interesting for 2 rounds.

Then Khabib smash, if he doesn't get knocked out before that.

Decision is not likely at all

It isn't instantly over, but it's over.
