Why couldn’t the UFC make the Anderson vs GSP superfight happen?

GSP almost got KTFO by a lesser striker in Carlos Condit, it is fair to assume that Anderson would send the Canadian to queer street
 
I'm glad it never happened. Silva is way too big for GSP and at his peak Silva would have presented problems even for Jon Jones. Best thing that it never happened.

Neither did Anderson. In reality neither wanted to give up any advantage and are both hypocrites.

in 2009 Anderson didn't want to cut to WW, and GSP didn't want to move to MW.

fast forward to 2017, Anderson wants to fight McGregor at WW, and GSP fought Bisping at MW
 
GSP was in the crowd when Silva fought Damien and the commentators said he was there to challenge Silva.

Because Anderson clowned so much in this time period Dana was close to firing him and the super fight was forgotten

If I remember correctly Silva said he would take the fight at a catch weight of 176 or something
 
It got to the point where they straight up had Rogan put GSP on the spot in the octagon after a win. He just didn't want to do it, and in hindsight I guess it was smart of him not to.
 
Should have made Silva/Jones since both had fought at LHW during their primes.

Ping got a London decision and looks like his face had been slashed by a lawn mower.

The MMAth is also BS.

Anderson puts GSP to sleep. GSP KNOWS that he won't even get the chance to tap to strikes because anderson will clip him too quickly.
