Josh Thompson’s life changed after he fought Tony Ferguson

Why does everyone Sherdog expect cliffs for everything? Just watch the video or don't.
.... Really?

What if i didn't come in to this thread to watch a video but only to know how Thompsons life changed? Or what if i simply don't have the audio atm to watch a video? Or what if it's late where im from and reading is the only thing helping me sleep? What if i don't like Thompsons voice but reading the cliffs instantly makes me a fan? Or what if i don't want to waste my time on a shitty video? The matter of cliffs is far deeper than the meatheady "Just watch the video or don't bro"

And yes. As @HHJ pointed out, the biggest reason of all, it's sherdog tradition. A tradition so grand that any thread viewing a video longer than 2 minutes without any sort of cliffs constitutes as pure lazyness. Unless it's a promo video of course.

I purposely don’t provide cliffs if I want people to actually watch the video
What you didn't know about cliffs is that people are more inclined to watch the video after reading a bit about it.

Also pressures people to not post interesting videos because they don't want to spend 15 min writing cliffs
Cliffs doesn't have to take 15 min. Just write something. One answer. Preferable the answer to what the person is saying in the title.

Takes seconds. Just advice no one has to do anything.

It's called owning someone's soul. Examples: - Silva owns Franklin's soul.
- Cain owns Dos Santos' soul
- Gaethje owns Tony's soul
- Lesnar may own Mir's soul
- Robbie owns Rory's soul. (Not a one sided fight though).

Some guys just get beat so bad they're never the same sadly.

Izzy owns costa’s soul

Great video TS. Some cliffs:

-Couldn't stop shivering for about 30 mins after the fight due to blood loss
-said that he was easier to rock in fights after Tony
-said he could never get back the winning mindset
-thinks that GSP tapping to strikes was a smart move as it prolonged and preserved his career (I think he was alluding to that he probably should have tapped in the Tony fight against Tony)

Cliffs

Thompson lost so much blood he was shivering in a hot shower after the fight. Could not stand. Was in shock. Lasted 30 minutes.

wish he had pulled a GSP and tapped. Could have come back, re-assessed his game. He believes GSP understood the risks of damage more than anyone. Tapping allowed GSP to rebuild because the bricks weren’t broken.

His career changed after Tony. Never wanted to get hit anymore, training sucked, but he was forever altered. Even in wins he felt his brittleness. Damage after Tony was more devastating.

Then skip the thread and move on with your life. People don't have to cater to your needs.

This is the Sherdog way, we all think we're Shang Tsung here.

Awesome vid TS, I remember that fight being incredibly bloody. Props to Josh for admitting this, I don't think Koscheck ever recovered after fighting GSP for the title.

Now go get your shinebox

IMO there's nothing wrong with tapping to strikes. You shouldn't need to take excessive damage in a fight you've already lost. You don't need to be beaten unconscious or have the ref stop it to prove you're a man.
