Josh Koscheck vs Anthony Johnson

He never won a single title though, once the pressure went against him he always folded and got choked.

He beats Jones imo

Prime Kos was one of the most dangerous WW ever.

He really fck Dana's plan when he won Vs Diego when Sanchez was 17-0.

Also Wins over
Menne
Trigg
Lytle
Hughes
Rumble
Daley

Sad he ended is career on a 6 fights losing Streak...

Him and Fitch would’ve been champion’s in any other era. Kos really put on some great fights. The Alves fight, on short notice, really made me a fan.

My original opinion was that Kos was a douche, however, I grew to like him because the dude was always willing to take fights on short notice, and he had skills, never boring.

GSP would've easily wrecked Rumble at 170 or 185

Hell, if he could survive the first 7 minutes he could finish Rumble at 205

Rumble would murder Gsp at 205, wtf are you smoking. He couldn't even take a punch against Matt Serra, let alone Rumble.

this is one of the best non talked about fights ever. Anthony Johnson was in the middle of a three fight win streak consisting of all knockouts and was easily one of the most feared and turned down fighters on the roster. Koscheck stood in the pocket with him most of the fight and traded bombs, weathered the storm, grinded Anthony out and finished him. That performance alone made me a lifelong fan of Koscheck. that fight has got to be one of the most epic and gutsiest performances of all time IMO. thoughts??
of all time? that's a big statement

but Kos was definitely underrated

Underrated? Definitely not at the time. He was considered one of GSP's actual threats and back then he was the talked about as basically the best wrestle-boxer at least at 170 (before Hendricks, Burger, Woodley were KOing everyone). He was also considered to be the best wrestler at the time at 170 aside from GSP. People were very high on Kos for a long time, although many did not like his personality.

Prime Kos was good. But Prime GSP was unstoppable.

Totally agree and glad somebody mentioned it.
Last time I heard Koscheck even mentioned was when I was foolish enough to visit the MMA reddit website and saw a video of Paul Daley trying to punch Koscheck after the bell and being disqualified.
All the comments were the same gossipy little bitches whining about how much of an asshole Koscheck was and that he uttered racial slang to Daley to wind him up. Probably bullshit as it wasn't proven, but the whiney little reddit bitches only need to read something they want to agree with to jump aboard the hate train on someone.
Josh Koscheck is a brilliant fighter and his dismantling of Rumble was a thing of beauty.

wait what racial slurs, Kos is black isn't he?

That stoppage always annoyed me. He drops and immediately looks like he's ready to defend.
Yeah it was flash, but when he dropped, he dropped quick, I was floored watching it live, never saw that coming at all tbh, I gave Paulo zero chance in that fight, which I am sure played into the look I had on my face.

Did Koscheck get in his face and motorboat his ass?

Josh Koscheck was a beast. I was a huge GSP fan, and genuinely worried that Kos could neutralize GSP's wrestling and KO him on the feet. Seeing GSP out-wrestle Koscheck in their first fight and then outstrike him in the second fight was just astounding. These fights really cemented for me how good GSP was, because Koscheck was an amazing fighter himself.

He was pretty damn good. Great wrestling. Big power for WW. He was easily #2 guy at WW and probably would’ve defended multiple times had GSP not been around.
Both Koscheck and Fitch would probably have been UFC champs if it weren't for GSP.

But the worst luck goes to Gustafsson. Both Jones and DC are at that GSP level. Imagine sharing an era with not one but BOTH of the greatest fighters your division has ever seen.
