News Josh Emmett(35) is back training from ACL injury

Good luck, Josh!!!

I'm 4 weeks post-op after my 2nd ACL reconstruction surgery. It's a long road back.

Let's not push it.
In his prime his ceiling was getting KO'd by stephens.

Cub Swanson would smoke him.

Anyway, your return fight from serious injury in your late 30s probably means you're not getting any title shot soon... Best accomplishment he can hope for now is avenging the Jeremy Stephen loss, who also is fading away after dying in his last 5 fights.

None of the above are challenging anybody for a title. Father time is undefeated.
Emmett > Burgos > Swanson > Stephens > Emmett

Emmett impressed me with that fight, thought Burgos was an all around better striker and that Emmett was a big basic and one dimensional. But he showed some neat tricks in that fight in addition to the toughness of fightign through an ACL injury.
Cejudo > Francis is still the best MMath I have ever seen.
How does that work?!

Can't believe Josh is only ranked 35th. He is WAY better than that ranking indicates. IMO.

I truly enjoy watching Josh fight. He brings it and goes for finishes. Can't wait to see him back.

It's been a while since I I've seen the fight, but I remember pulling for Stephens right up to the point that he hit Emmet a knee to the head while Emmet was down and the the ref really dropped the ball on that one.
If I'm not mistaken, that knee really changed the momentum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't take my word for it.

Nice MMA math son

The Stephens that fought Emmett would starch the version of himself that fought Cub btw

If the Stephens who KOed Emmet paired up with current Cub Swanson to fight a team consisting of Emmet and the Stephens who lost to Cub, who do you have?

I think Emmett (assuming his knee is 100%) is Volk's toughest matchup

Insanely hard to wrestle and hold in the clinch, and even though his striking isn't nearly as technical as Volk's, he hits a lot harder and is fast as fuck.
Lol why? He's pretty one dimensional and telegraphs everything

he's going to be a great gatekeeper tho

How can you not like Emmett? The guy is exactly the reason more people should still be watching the sport.

He needs wins. Another loss puts him in that bracket where no fighter wants to be on the peripheral of meaningful fights.

He's 35 yo

Emmett is one of those guys that I have an issue with, but I have no idea why. That said, after checking his record, he's definitely legit. 7-2 in the UFC, with victories over several top 10 guys. Him getting a title shot with a decent win wouldn't be the worst thing to happen.
It’s cause he’s an ugly, short. Ginger, pasty, bald guy with god awful white trash bro tats who carries himself like he has a 12 inch rod and humble brags himself all time . Dude can fight but I too, find him bit insufferable .

Josh deserves a #1 contender fight. I think he beats Yair.

Saw a thread about his tats and was surprised at home many people actually think those things are cool

sorta bummed me out actually

all of the things you've commented on though make me think are the reasons why he does this I'm the victim shit in his interviews so I try to sympathize

Sustaining so many injuries in his last fight was really upsetting. At his age, it will be difficult to come back at the same level he was fighting prior to his injuries.

Hes one of the best FW in the world, and if he has lost even a little edge (speed, timing, mobility, etc) that can be the difference between winning a title or going 0-3 in the next year. Im hoping he has fully recovered, and isnt affected too badly by his injuries. Dude always brings the action and is a dangerous fight for anybody. WAR Josh Emmett.
