Josh Brolin: Hidden Manlet?

No its their faces and talent. There just arent that many handsome talented tall guys entering acting. Just like in the modeling world there is not a ton of super tall guys.
Film producer Brian Hennessey sums up a common explanation:

“The dynamic of ‘shorter’ actors is mostly a result of practicality. There is more of an abundance of actors and actresses of average height so they are easier to cast. They are also by and large easier to shoot. It is somewhat challenging to frame an actor who is 6 foot 3 inches when the rest of the cast averages 5 foot 9. This is especially true when a male actor is significantly taller than a female actor in a romantic themed story.

There is also a number of stars who are uncomfortable working with actors who are significantly taller for fear of appearing too short. They can have a significant influence on the casting choices of a film. Then there is the aspect of taller men by and large choosing to participate sports over performing arts early on in school, thus leaving a smaller pool of skilled taller actors for films.”

When the skillset is high it breaks norms. I dont believe that many good actors would not have been cast if they were 6"2 vs average height.

Now if they were ugly yes they wouldnt be cast

He could be 4"6 who gives a shit? he is stands out in the movies he is in

Average height unless you're Dutch or Maasai or an internet dweller, no?

I don’t know about hidden, in Deadpool didn’t they say outright “he’s not tall like in the comics?” Or something like that?

Similarly Oscar Isaac is a wanna be Pacino, he’s not playing bruisers in any of his movies. Dude’s been an engineer, run an oil company, a folk musician, a city councilor, a pilot, and Apocalypse in his biggest roles. He wasn’t good in X-men, but that whole movie was a mess. I don’t know how he’ll do as Solid Snake, probably a lot of stealth and not much hand to hand combat in that role.

When I think of Hidden Manlets, I looks at guys who try to make themselves seem bigger in their roles. Stallone, Vin Diesel, guys like that. The guys described in here are either not tall or just short.

Vin is the worst. Embrace your reality bro. He is a flaming, tiny, hippy dancer.

I was watching Ex Machina the other night and noticed how Domnhall Gleeson towered over Oscar Issac. I thought Gleeson must’ve been 6’5” or something seeing the difference in some scenes. Now i know Issac isn’t a sherdogger or anything but surely he can’t be that short. Gleeson is only 6’1” I believe and the difference in height tells me Issac has to be maybe even shorter than 5’6”. Google has him listed at 5’9”. Yeah right. I think Carey Mulligan might’ve been taller in Inside Llewyn Davis.

I think he's in the 5'9-5'10 range. That's average male height in most countries but a dwarf on the internet. He does have a massive head that makes him look like his growth was stunted by cigarettes or something.

he also looks like he has really short t-Rex arms. a few shifts in chromosomes and he could have been a little person.

Men need to stop being catty about each others hairlines and height on the internet. This is how women behave at the water cooler at work.

it’s weird too because his dad was a dimepiece in his prime.
