Hey everyone. I caught up with Eduardo Dantas recently and he gave a shout out to Sherdog!

I asked him if he knew of Sherdog and he said "Sherdog? It's a forum right? And the Underground?" - he then proceeded to thank you guys for the support in English with no prompting which I thought was very classy - the guy is a true gent

I know this is not strictly UFC content but Eduardo trains with Jose Aldo and the interview is about the social project they both help out at in a small favela in Rio.

Hope you guys can get behind him ahead of his Bellator fight this weekend. Perhaps a mod could make this a sticky?

Nice. Wish the best for him in his upcoming fight.

"Suredags an de undegrohnd"

I approve but those scum at underground have no business in the same sentence as us.

Sherbros opinion on brazilians. LOL

Thanks! If this thread stays positive I'll forward him the link later and maybe get him on Sherdog after his fight. The guy who he says got him into BJJ "Polengue Dias" is actually Hacran Dias's brother Carlos. The nickname Polengue means a type of cheese and they gave him it on account of being light skinned haha :)

lol I thought he was going to say we're a bunch of lowlife keyboard warriors

We made it guys! On a side note hes a pretty scrappy fighter and is entertaining to watch.

Watched his some of fights great fighter for sure...

The fight this weekend should be fireworks. I wrote this small blurb to go with the youtube vid then left it off as it was a bit meh:

Bellator 150 will be held this Friday Feb. 26 at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kan. The event, which is headlined by the bantamweight championship bout between Marcos Galvao and Eduardo Dantas and is a rematch of a fight that saw Dantas win the title by second round KO in March of 2014 from his long time mentor.

The fight was packed full of emotion leading Bellator commentator Jimmy Smith to comment: "It was tough, it was one of the most emotional scenes I had ever seen in the cage before"

After winning the title Dantas would lose the belt to Joe Warren by decision who in turn lost the belt to Galvao. And so it is that we come full circle for a rematch packed full of emotion and intrigue. Will Galvao be able to revenge the loss to his one time student? Or will Eduardo reaffirm himself as one of the world's best at bantamweight and reclaim the belt?

DuDu is a beast. Thanks for sharing, I'll be watching. Hope it delivers after Kimbo/Dada was more like Hellabor fighting championship.

Bellator missed a trick not having a legit title fight on the Kimbo card. FFS why not have this fight beforehand? That way people would actually get to see some great MMA

Fun style of fighter. He goes for broke in there. Some really nice finishes.

No surprise there, I suspect certain posters to be very close to the Aldo camp (friends or family) if not training at Nova Uniao

Good interview. Sounds like there are some great dudes at Nova Uniao trying to help out struggling communities. Hacran Dias is another.

Best of luck in your title fight, Dantas!

Give a message to Aldo: He is no longer our boy

Dantas is a beast. Dude needs to gain a little more fight IQ and keep working on his craft.

Has the tools to be an elite fighter should be put it together.

Thanks guys. Ttt. I'll link him this thread before his fight so anyone with a message post away
