I still think Aldo beats Conor in a rematch

Aldo boxing is so technical and his defense is insane. Conor wouldn't outpace him like Max

Lol I meant light weight
Big fan of aldo

But yeah

I think he can float around top 10 or certain fights that fans would like to see

Cant see him becoming the champion

Fergunson is a bigger version than holloway
Wrestlers like khabib a lot stronger

But some winnable fights

Aldo vs Eddie would be insane in a 3 round fight

Look at Aldo's frame . A ripped Aldo cutting from 170 lbs to make 155 like most guys do would be as big as a professional "natural" bodybuilder.

In other words -- he's too small for 155.

The cut to 145 is getting to him now, also he's getting older. 155 would be a lot healthier, but if he's able to win a title?

No doubt it would be ugly to see him against the top 5 at lightweight. We don't need to see that.

If he wanted some fun legacy fights before he retired at 155, I could see something like Aldo x Melendez or some such. Put him together with another veteran on the b-side of their career perhaps?

Not a huge Aldo fan, but I have mad respect for him as he's an OG. I don't want to see him get hurt

agreed

and go back to Roberta Garcia's gym and do S & C with Nick Curson.

Always look like he was close to diying at weigh ins.

Time to stop ducking is real Weight class
So now he can move up in weight and fight guys who are ducking an even higher weight class.

I was a fan of Aldo for a very long time but since the Conor loss he is getting worse and worse. Not only his performances. He seems like a spoiled little brat, storming out of the cage. Cmon give Holloway some credit, he beat him fair and square but Aldo will come up with excuses again, I can see it coming. Tough to say but its really hard to cheer for Aldo anymore. McGregor destroyed him mentally, he will never be the same. He even looks old as dirt for a 31 year young men.
Cool story bro. Now say this again on your main account.

More like go vegan and cut to 135.

Top guys at 155 molest him worse than Max did.

His rematch with Edgar post-USADA was one of the marquee performances of his career and his physique looks identical. He beat Edgar in a 5 round fight and did it with relative ease.

The reality is no one can do this forever. I'd bet my life savings BJ Penn never took PEDS, and you can find a pretty clear delineation line where he lost his fast ball.

You're the best right up until you are not, Max will suffer the same fate years from now, because that is what happens to all great fighters.

We don't need to disparage Aldo who's fought for years now under USADA and never failed a test.

This is something some people don't get until they see it happen to the generation of fighters that first got them engaged in the sport. Fighters fade. There is a pretty clear trajectory for most fighters of a 10-12 year career after which they fall off dramatically (leaving aside the issue of career-altering injuries). Their peak usually lasts 2 to 3 years and usually starts 6-8 years into their career.

Anderson Silva was a genuine freak in that his consensus peak performance began 9 years into his career and lasted for 4-5 years. He was 16 years into his professional career when he lost to Weidman for the first time.

Aldo's progression was a lot more normal. He started in 2004, improved pretty steadily until 2011, peaked 2012-2013ish, and dropped off starting in 2014.

Holloway has been fighting since 2010. 7 years into his career, he is in the middle of his statistical peak. He is also a young guy who has been fairly free of injury. Assuming he stays healthy, I would expect him to continue to look great for another 5 years or so, at which time he will likely be losing a step, even if he stays undefeated.

So around 2022, you can look forward to threads on Sherdog about how Holloway was never really that good.

I got the perfect fight for Aldo. Have him fight Pettis at 155lbs... It's time.
