Jordan Peterson owns up to his faults and his efforts to correct them.

It's like how elite athletes fail to become great coaches, they just can't relate to anyone who isn't elite.

If you're looking for self help, you better go to someone who knows what it's like to need help, only they are going to be able to really help you.

Jordan Peterson and it's not even close. Jordan is the arbiter of common sense. Sam Harris is just a safe choice for liberals pretending to be open minded.

Low hanging fruit and also patently false, people need to make a more genuine effort in how they engage with people they don't see eye to eye with. There is no 'meanwhile', he wasn't lecturing people on how to live life during that period of his life, he completely withdrew from the public during that time while he worked on his issues. How is that not taking responsibility for your life? Does not being immune to the tragedies of life make someone a hypocrite? Then nobody could ever give another person advice.

Before people try to cheapshot me and invalidate what I said by labeling me some biased Peterson acolyte, I'm not some hardcore follower who can't handle criticism towards his 'idol'. To me, he's an interesting person whose material I've enjoyed, that's about the extent of it. I'm gonna take a wild guess the same goes for a lot of other people.

I'm listening to the vancouver debate, admittedly though with internet attention span.

It seems obvious that scripture is for the intelligences of the day, and not they for the scripture. The individual is the arbiter. I don't get Sam's sort of obsession with the bad aspects of dogmatic religion, given his talent. Even from a spiritual point of view, who disagrees? (I mean of course among those with the moral and other intelligence that it seems should only be considered here.) He also agrees that not all scriptures are bad. I just don't often seem to see the point of his efforts.

Sam Harris is such a closed minded little baby. It was really evident when Jordan and Harris had those talks with Bret Weinstein moderating and BW actually was intelligent and open minded enough to see JP's point.

Plus JP has actually helped 1000s of people. Sam not so much but he sure be mad at his sky daddy.

Jordan Peterson, I guess. I consider both part of the global tribe of social media opinion hustlers, but at least Peterson nominally has a purpose with his hustle. Harris just tells people what he thinks for the sake of telling them what he thinks. Not to mention his views on Donald Trump suck.
