Jones was so scared of him that even though Sergei was the backup fighter for his last two fights,

He would've dodged the Russian boogy man at the last minute if anyone actually pulled out.

Jon would have danced around him and point fight to a boring decision. I’ve watch Jones entire career and his fight IQ is off the charts. Unless Jones has declined heavily there’s nobody in the roster that can beat him.

Pavlovich does nothing for Jones. He is not a name, not a draw, on top of that very dangerous KO artist while Jones himself never had big power (especially in his punches). Of course he is not fighting him, especially one fight away from retirement. He always wanted to fight only Stipe and call it a day, Gane was conveniently there for him to get the belt and make the Stipe fight more interesting.

Let the man retire and headbutt police cars in peace.

jones > gane > lewis > blaydes > aspinall > pavlovich

Aspinall beat Pavlovich, so that means Jon had nothing to be afraid of. Derr.

This thread is a pile of crap lol.
Sergei was a one dimensional HW with power. Not some unstoppable juggernaut.

The idea of Jones being terrified to fight this generic, no name, one dimensional heavyweight with power was peak sherdog delusion.

He was also so scared of Ngannou that he retired once people started speculating about the 2 fighting someday. Then magically he's ready to fight again once Francis left the UFC.

Jones path to victory against Pavlovich would look nothing like Apinall's. You want to know why? Because it doesn't exist.

I hate Jon and even I think this take is just a bit forced.

He was unsure so he say "hey Dana, you send Thomas Paul Aspinall to fight him first ok?" and then now he know "Oh dang haha i can beat for certain lulz"

So now he definitely not scared. Never need to risk anything to find out and he just sit on his chair of his and play EA UFC 5 or somewhat thing else.

Pavlovich has a near equal reach to Jones, Jones wouldn't be able to do that to him.

Jones doesn't have Aspinall's power, not even close.
Styles make fights, and sooner or later Sergei will land.
Does Jones have Aspinall's chin?

Dunno, and we'll never find out, because Jones is done.
