Jones vs. Shogun 2 makes sense if...

...Johnny Walker loses to Corey Anderson. (we know Corey is boring and nobody cares about him)
...Weidman beats Reyes. (That would remove Reyes from title contention. (Weidman would only have 1 win at LHW.)
...Volkan beats Rakic. (Volkan just fought for the title and got manhandled by the man Jones beat twice)

Of course all these things has to happen first but nothing is impossible. I think Shogun has more chance this time against Jones than last time since Jones is off steroids and pillow fisted. Shogun has won 4 of his last 5 and we have seen guys getting title shots for much less.

Jan probably fights Jones in the end of 2019 and 2020 is Shogun's turn.

Weidman and Volkan would absolutely get title shot consideration if they won. Especially Weidman. True about Corey, but he's not beating Walker.

I like Shogun and he's 4-1 since USADA, so nothing but respect to the guy. But I don't think UFC want him near a title shot.
