It would have been awesome to see Rumble at his peak before the first DC fight against Jones but Jones fucked it up when it was scheduled. But after seeing what happened I have no doubt that Jones would have won. Santos has more heart, fight IQ, and surprisingly cardio than Rumble. At this point it might be more interesting if Jones really has regressed.

Once again, wtf are you talking about ? Gus was in his prime and everybody thought that his bout against Rumble would be just another day at the office before to take the belt. Texeira was on a 3 fight win streak and very confident. Special mension to Bader, Davis and Manuwa who were top LHW too.
Plus Walker and Santos have already got knocked out in the past.

Jones went on a cocaine bender to avoid the reality of stepping into a cage with Rumble when they were supposed to fight. Anthony has a clear mental advantage over Jon in the fact that Jon knows he could go to sleep from any single strike thrown. Jon saw that DC got hurt pretty bad in both fights against Rumble from a punch and a kick, and might be worried that a shot like that could finish him (esp now that Rumble is 300lbs and would be as big as he's ever been if he went back to 205).
