Jones v Stipe is Absolutely Farcical

100 grand to see Jones seems pretty cheap to me, you sound poor OP.

Saw something online that said the most expensive ticket at MSG to watch Jones v Stipe was over $100,000. I feel bad for whoever is paying that to watch a drubbing that will be over within a round. Jones is nothing if not calculating, he knows Stipe has nothing for him and he will retire immediately after the fight to avoid any of the other contenders in the division.

Lol last UFC event didn't teach you something? Most peoples thoughts that Strickland would have nothing for Izzy, too.

Jones knows he'd get brutally slept by Pavlovich and Aspinall
yeah just like rampage would slam and punch his face
shogun would kick his tiny legs
dc would outwrestle him
and gane was so big and juicy the real HW
man im tired.but props to his haters
they endured this sh!t for more than a decade
lol

Stipe would most likely have beaten Jones back 4 or 5 years ago when the talk started about Jones going to hwy. Now, with Stipe slowing down and getting older, and not having fought for a while, and just seemingly pretty uninterested in MMA, the odds have changed to be in Jones favor. Which is why Jones took the fight.

Stipe never would've beat Jones

1. We paid almost $4k, they're good seats where we can see whats happening well, not floor seats though.
2. Definitely a splurge we don't do often because we actually don't like going to fights, we prefer seeing them on TV. We are both combat fans but he LOVES Jones more than me, he really wanted to see this fight in person cause of its potential significance. We are able to do it without dipping too much but it definitely puts a dent in our frivolous spending money.
3. Not really, but we live fairly comfortably and don't have big expenses. We work in tech, but we aren't top of the food chain in either of our industries; me less so since I'm still in an entry position.
4. None of that since we live in NYC. uber + snacks, he's probably gonna have a couple beers though (I don't drink, but also, pregnant again so either way a no go).

Thanks for the reply and congrats on the pregnancy!

The card sucks too

Hell yeah!

Like Gane was going to do!!! Send Jones to the SHADOW REALM!!

He knew !

Wait...
Who?
What?

I agree that Bones is only taking fights he definitely knows he can win. After the Santos and Reyes fights, which you can argue he lost, Jon knew he now had limitations as a fighter.

Santos was ROBBED
I dont know why he didnt get an immediate rematch as the clear winner!

The GOAT GOAT vs the heavyweight GOAT.

Easily worth 100k a ticket.

What has stipe done that shows he’s fallen off a cliff athletically….jones haters attempt to diminish the goats win…..they’re both past it a bit

You're right, people want to see Jones fall.

But let's be honest, Jones has never faced a fighter as big or as skilled as Stipe. Jones faces the threat of accurate boxing with KO power in both hands. Jones has probably had to drill some rounds on the bottom to prepare for a bigger better wrestler that may choose to take him down and gnp him.

Stipe wins this fight rather easily due to a favorable stylistic matchup. But if Jones were to pull it off, he should get more credit than you would be willing to give to him. He has a battle ahead of him the likes he has never seen in the ufc.

Lol first it was Jones is never gonna fight at HW and stipe would wash him now its a farce.
Jones had been talking about moving to Heavyweight since 2012 and didn't until it was confirmed that Ngannou wasn't going to re-sign; Jones also ducked a prime Miocic because he didn't think enough people knew who Miocic was (and yet Miocic's buyrates haven't changed since his first reign).

For me it's still a bit of a mystery just how good Jon Jones still is at HW. All I saw was a 2 minute destruction over someone he was levels ahead of in grappling. If Stipe comes in ready to fight this might be very competitive. I don't know how anyone can just write Stipe off as an easy W like it's going to be a slaughter.

Could be Jones last fight, atleast most think it is. Makes it historical.

Stipe can win this however he wants, literally. Yet hes the underdog....
Maybe not by sub, cause he's never finished a fight by sub, but I get what you're saying. On paper Stipe is in many ways the most dangerous guy Jon's ever fought. Has Jon ever fought someone with this combination of power and wrestling? No he has not. Stipe's on another level from Rampage, Ryan Bader, and even Cormier. The only reason the line is this wide is because of Stipe's age, inactivity, and KO losses that indicate he's at the end of his career.
